The Traitors stars finally share their hidden exchange during funeral scene
The Traitors stars Diane and Ross have revealed what happened during their secret exchange.
The mother and son were reunited last night on spin-off show Uncloaked after Ross was banished from the roundtable on Wednesday's episode. Just hours after he had been recruited by Harry and Andrew as a Traitor himself, Ross ended up leaving the show.
Upon his exit he finally revealed Diane was his mum before heading out of the castle for good, leaving the remaining players stunned. Ross and Diane reflected on their time in the game and the emotional moment they parted ways. The 28-year-old had to attend his mum's funeral as she was murdered slowly by poison.
Diane's exit was in the dramatic funeral scenePlayers had been told one person had been poisoned by a Traitor the night before, and at the end of the funeral procession the players would know who'd been targeted. Three at-risk players were made to lie in coffins while the rest placed roses in the box of the person they thought had been killed.
When it was Ross' turn, Diane whispered: "Bye". Speaking on Uncloaked, Ross recalled: "It was a mixture of emotions because at the end of the day you are seeing your mum get put in a coffin. It's still a secret at this point. It is emotional, but at the same time you can't show too much emotion because the other contestants will be like 'why is Ross crying? I didn't know him and Diane were so close'."

Diane added: "I was waiting for him to look over. And I wanted to say 'love you' but I didn't want to move my mouth twice. You thought I'd said 'Miles', so you didn't even think I'd said bye." When Ross was recruited by the Traitors, Harry and Andrew had no idea about his and Diane's relation.

On leaving the show, he said: “Being a Traitor is hard work, every day you’ve got to switch it on. The whole scenario is intense. I’m glad I got to play but I was a Traitor for a whole two minutes. I didn’t really have a game plan because I didn’t know what to expect.
“Once the game starts there are so many things going on and so many people trying to impose their strategy, your own goes out of the window. Even if I did have a strategy, your strategy goes out of the window.” He added: “We said we would never reveal that we were mother and son, that we were going to try and link up as much as possible.
“We didn’t want to reveal that we were related because it would instantly sow a seed of mistrust. If we had said from the get-go that we were mother and son, other people would have thought that it put us at an advantage. As soon as the competition mindset kicks in, it would have made us vulnerable. That was it, we just didn’t want to give anyone any opportunity to vote us out.”
