Chelsea and Liverpool are set to meet in this year's Carabao Cup final at Wembley Stadium.

The Blues earned their spot in the final after thrashing Championship side Middlesbrough 6-2 on aggregate. Having lost the first leg 1-0 at the Riverside, Chelsea bounced back in dominant fashion at Stamford Bridge to put six past Michael Carrick's side.

Jonny Howson scored an unfortunate own goal and star man Cole Palmer netted a brace, while Axel Disasi, Enzo Fernandez and Noni Madueke were also on target for Mauricio Pochettino's men.

Liverpool, meanwhile, booked their place in the final with a 3-2 aggregate win over Fulham. Liverpool led the tie after winning the first leg at Anfield 2-1 and drew the second leg 1-1 thanks to goals from Luis Diaz and Issa Diop.

Chelsea have won the competition five times in their history, while Liverpool have won it a record nine times. The last time the two teams met in the final was 2022, with Jurgen Klopp's side ultimately triumphing on penalties after the game ended in a 0-0 draw.
