Coleen Nolan's family and famous friends are rallying around the upset star as she battles empty nest syndrome.

The Loose Women panelist, 58, admitted last week she "couldn't stop crying" following her 22-year-old daughter's decision to book a one-way ticket out of the UK and go travelling. Mum-of-three Coleen, who shares her youngest child Ciara Fensome with ex-husband Ray Fensome, confessed she "doesn't like" her daughter's decision to travel the world and feels like she is losing her "best friend".

Despite one of Coleen's Loose Women co-stars telling the former singer to "grow up" and accept her kid's choice on the ITV show last week, it's now been revealed that two of Coleen's fellow panellists will be helping the lonely mother as she adjusts to a new phase in her life.

Coleen, who is also mum to Shane Nolan and Jake Roche from her marriage with EastEnders legend Shane Ritchie, is planning to keep busy as a way to combat any feelings of loneliness once Ciara jets off on her travels, with Loose Women stars Ruth Langsford and Brenda Edwards on hand to help their co-star.

"Ruth's son Jack is a similar age to Ciara, so they have a lot in common, and Coleen really supported Brenda when she lost her son Jamal in 2022, so Brenda will want to be there for Coleen," a source told new! magazine. "She knows she has a lot going on in her personal life."

Coleen first confessed that she "can't stop crying" over her daughter's decision to go travelling during an episode of Loose Women last week. During a heated discussion on the ITV show about parents suffering from 'empty nest syndrome', Coleen revealed her distress over Ciara's decision to see more of the world.

Earlier this week, the mum-of-three shared with her ITV co-stars Ruth, Janet Street-Porter and Linda Robson that Ciara had been planning this adventure with her boyfriend for the past two years. She admitted: "They've worked really hard and saved up and I'm so proud of them both and her, but honestly, I just can't stop crying."

Coleen went on to say: "But I'm trying not to do it in front of her because I'm thrilled and I'm proud because what an amazing thing to do. But it's like losing my best friend." Her co-star, Ruth, playfully jabbed that Coleen would feel the pinch since Ciara helps "run her life".

Agreeing with Ruth, Coleen added: "She is the mother of the house. My son text me the other day and went, 'This is going to do you good mum because you need to grow up'." The singer and Loose Women presenter also shed light on how much Ciara contributes around the house including cooking, making life easier while she readies for her impending one-woman show.

"It's just very stressful," she said, before adding: "Empty nest syndrome is real." Janet remarked: "Just speaking for her, she's got to be allowed to live her own life." Coleen replied: "Oh she is being allowed. I don't have to like it, Janet," with Janet hitting back: "I know you don't like it but you have got to grow up a bit Coleen. I never thought I'd say those words. But you have got to manage by yourself."

Ciara moved out of the family home last October, but the singer and star of The Nolans has been hit particularly hard by her daughter's overseas adventure. A source previously told new!: "Coleen has always tried to be a hands-on mum, even when she and her sisters were touring during The Nolans' heyday, she always wanted them around. She even toured while she was pregnant with Jake."

"Coleen's once bustling farmhouse does feel empty without her children. But she's not alone in feeling like this. Her nephew Danny, her sister Maureen's son, has moved to the States with his family, so Coleen and Maureen are in the same boat. They'll be supporting each other, despite their busy schedules."
