The Chase's Bradley Walsh stopped immediately by lawyers over 'misread' on show
The Chase host Bradley Walsh has revealed that filming sometimes has to be stopped due to the 'mistakes' made while reading questions.
The popular ITV quiz show, which has been on air for nearly 15 years, sees four brave contestants team up to outsmart some of the nation's biggest brains for a chance to win a big cash prize. Despite the show's consistent format and smooth running, there have been instances when things didn't go as planned.
Bradley doesn't see the questions any sooner than the contestants, leading to occasional errors. He recently told Radio Times: "If there is a slight misread, I am stopped immediately, bang, by the lawyers." He added that he has to ask questions super fast on the telly quiz.
He explained: "You have to be at such a speed: if you're a contestant and I go 'What's... the capital... of France... ' they'd be dead and buried in 30 seconds. I have to make sure they get up to speed and they're getting about 18 or 19 questions answered correctly. That's the real banana skin score [that will trip the chasers up].
He gets stopped if 'there's a slight misread' with the questions (ITV)"Once the chasers get in a rhythm there's no stopping them. They can answer 24, 25 questions in two minutes We've even almost reached 30." Bradley has hosted The Chase on ITV since 2009 and also enjoyed roles on Coronation Street and Doctor Who. He is now a co-host on the BBC’s revived game show Gladiators.

However, the fame and fortune he enjoys today was but a dream to him as a kid growing up on the outskirts of London. Bradley recently said his mother had to work multiple jobs to feed their family. And he didn’t have much before his career in the spotlight began.
The TV star says he inherited his own hard-working attitude from his mother and is proud of the career, success and money he has created throughout his life. The actor and TV host was reflective while discussing this life in an interview. He told The Telegraph: "I'm from a working-class background. I was born in Watford, and grew up in a council house… My mother was a single parent, who had to struggle hard to make ends meet.
"At one point she was holding down three different jobs. It was a happy childhood but we certainly didn't have a great deal of money." He added: "I think I've inherited my mother's attitude, that hard work will pay off."
The Chase is on ITV1 and ITVX every weekday at 5pm.
