Amanda Holden's emotional gesture to celebrate daughter's milestone birthday
Amanda Holden appeared overwhelmed with emotion as she marked the birthday of her eldest child.
The 52-year-old Britain’s Got Talent judge is a proud mum-of-three, sharing daughters Alexa, who turned 18-years-old this weekend, and Hollie, who turns 12-years-old later this month, with her husband, Chris Hughes. Taking to social media on Saturday, Amanda expressed her disbelief over being the mother of an 18-year-old.
She took to Instagram where she uploaded a video that comprised of a montage of images of Lexi through her life so far - featuring her as a baby, toddler, child and teen. Snaps in the mix included moments where Lexi had joined Amanda on the set of Britain’s Got Talent, and lots of photos of her with her younger sister.
Amanda explained to her fans that she was looking forward to celebrating with her daughter over the weekend as they rang in her landmark year. The TV star wrote: “Well ..The time has literally slipped by and our beautiful @lexi.hughes_official is 18 today. We just cannot quite believe it.

The video sparked a flurry of congratulations from Amanda’s fans and social media followers. Lizzie Cundy was among those taking to the comments section, writing: “Happiest of birthdays beautiful girl Lexi” along with a red heart emoji. While former Strictly winner Stacey Dooley branded the teen a “Stunnah”.
Amanda and her husband Chris - who also featured in the montage - have been happily married since 2008. Mandy has opened up about her approach to parenting in the past, explaining that she tries to keep a cool head at all time, just like her father had while raising her.

“Chris always says, 'I can't wait to actually see you lose your rag one day.' He says, 'I want to be there for the day when you lose your rag.' And he always says to the girls, 'Don't push mummy too far cause she will have a breaking point,' but I haven't found it yet."
And it seems Chris himself has never managed to push Amanda too far - as she shared a touching tribute to him last month to mark their anniversary. Celebrating their relationship online, the TV star wrote: "15 years ago today, I married my best friend. 20 years together. 2 Girls. An angel boy and we have made a beautiful life together!!! ( having said everything above, we still bicker every day) #anniversary."
