Hannah Byczkowski has described the second series of the Traitors as "a lot more calculated" than the first series, with her having suggested that the original cast were "a bit soft".

The comedian, 33, won the debut series of the BBC reality TV show, which launched in 2022. She shared a more than £100,000 prize fund with fellow winners Aaron Evans and Meryl Williams, who were also Faithfuls within the game.

The Mirror got Hannah's thoughts on the second series earlier this week. She teased that "it's really different" than the debut series and suggested that the contestants may have thought that they knew "how to play the game".

She told us on Monday: "They think they know how to play the game. I think that's pretty obvious because some of the game plays that were played [last time] are being used. But I think they might be a little bit in over their heads with it."

Hannah continued: "It's a lot more calculated than the first one. We were a bit soft, I suppose - they're a bit harder than us." She suggested at the time that the dynamic was "weird" within the cast, saying that relationships didn't seem to be forming within the first two weeks of the second series.

She said: "I don't see any relationships forming. [...] You kind of do but not that much. I think everybody just realises that ... every day you're gonna lose two people, so I don't think anybody's really getting that close to each other."

The former contestant added during the interview: "I would like to see some more stable relationships." She teased that it would likely happen in the remaining six episodes, with her saying at the time: "I'm sure it will as the series goes on."

Asked whether she had a game plan going into the first series, she told us: "I was very aware that we didn't know what the game was. So I didn't really have a game plan." Hannah then suggested that game plans can change daily anyway because the "rules of the game change every day".

She said: "When you think about it, you're not being like 'if we get rid of the Traitors we get loads of money' - it's gonna come down to one or two people at the end. So you're gonna go against each other anyway, you may as well start now."

Hannah teased about having walked away with a share of the prize fund in the first series: "Let [other people] find the Traitors, let them get excited about that little game, and you just sit back and go and collect all the cash at the end."

The Traitors continues next Wednesday (January 24) on BBC One and BBC iPlayer at 9pm. You can catch up on previous episodes now through BBC iPlayer.
