The Traitors star exposes behind the scenes secrets of 'emotionally' tough show
The Traitors star Jonny has opened up about behind the scene secrets from the 'emotionally' exhausting show.
Jonny was banished from the game last week and appeared on Lorraine today to give his verdict. Fans who tuned into the show last night saw fan favourite Diane - who is the mother of fellow contestant Ross - and Traitor Miles banished from the show after the two remaining Traitors Harry and Paul turned on him to save themselves in a shocking turn of events.
Dishing some secrets from behind the scenes and how he feels about exiting the competition, Jonny admitted the show was very emotional for him and tiring, as he explained what happened when the cameras weren't rolling.
Jonny was banished last week (PA)"Of course, you’re emotionally tired and physically tired. You continuously feel like you can go any second in here, just by saying the wrong thing. You don’t know what twists are coming around the corner. Every time Claudia walks into the room, you don’t know what she’s going to say to us or what’s going to happen. You’ve got that element going on as well. You’re forever feeling like you’re suspicious. If you’re faithful, you still feel like you’re acting like a traitor, or am I? What’s going on?" he explained.
Jonny - who was injured during active military service - had also admitted his banishment brought back memories from his time on the front line. He said: "I think you’re always going to have an emotional response to something and I was surprised with how many memories came flooding back to my mind in completely different situations, but still highlighting those memories that are there.
Claudia Winkleman to host The Traitors series 2 as dramatic return confirmed
"They will always appear in different ways in the way you feel about something, but it doesn’t mean you can’t live with them and learn from it. Watching The Traitors back and being in The Traitors, I never thought in a million years that it would be so helpful for my mindset and my confidence. I never would have thought that. As it’s psychologically challenging, you would think it would give you worries but I came back and realised a few negative things about myself and the way I think."
Now he's been banished, Jonny has been watching the show from home and is backing fellow army personnel Harry to win.
He said: "I’m watching as a viewer now and I’m seeing all the missions coming up and I want to do them. Seeing them go through it. When I was banished, I was worried some people would be upset. I was worried for them because I didn’t want them to be upset and I’m completely fine with everyone - it’s a game at the end of the day. I am very black and white with the way I think and now I’m home, I can continue to see their journey and it’s so lovely to watch."
