Love Island's Jake exit mystery as he quits All Stars after Liberty reunion
It looks like we've got one of the most explosive starts to a series in Love Island history after it appeared angry Jake Cornish has already quit.
It is claimed that the hunk has walked out of the villa in disgust less than three days in after fans voted for him to couple-up with his ex-girlfriend Liberty Poole. On Monday, viewers discovered the results of the public vote - and it seems he was livid after being forced get together with his former flame.
The pair first appeared on Love Island during season seven in 2021 where they were the instant favourites to win the show. But disaster struck in the closing days of the contest as 24-year-old Liberty was shown footage of Jake complaining that he didn’t find her as attractive as he had led her to believe.
That moment shattered Liberty’s confidence and the couple opted to drop out of the show just hours from the live final, leaving viewers devastated. They've hardly seen each other since but both signed up for the All Stars show to try and find love elsewhere. They both insisted they had no idea each other had gone back for a second stint in South Africa.

When host Maya Jama confirmed the news, an angry Jake commented: "I knew it." He later went on to say: "I don't hate the girl." Upon seeing his ex entering the villa, he said: "What are the chances," before saying that there was no bad blood between the one time loved up pair.

A source has now said: "Jake was really shocked to see Liberty in the villa - they had no idea the other person would be there. It was clear from the start they wouldn't get back together, then none of the girls wanted to step forward for him - Jake had a nice three days but couldn't stay in the villa so he quit the show. It's not his time and it's not the right time to find love," the insider told The Sun.
When Jake walked into the villa, Chris Taylor turned to Liberty and said: "Well this is a fantastic start isn't it, you're going to have to have it out. Have you two spoken?" to which Liberty admitted: "No…not really. It’s been two years…" But Liberty told her pal Kaz that she would be mature and chat with her former boyfriend.
It all ended in tears back in 2021 and now Liberty and Jake won't have a happy ending three years on (ITV)Jake was said to be hoping to finally make peace with his former flame following their bitter break-up and the fallout that followed. Three years ago the 26-year-old was devastated when Liberty, 24, called off their romance days before the final of series seven. She accusing him of faking his feelings for her to try and win the show.
Liberty fled the villa in floods of tears after having her heart broken by the engineer and she accepts things are likely to be "awkward" when they're living together after both signing up to take part in the programme. We won't have lot to wait to see it, as the spin-off is nearly here.
In a pre-entry interview, Liberty was asked how she would feel if there was someone she dated in the All Stars villa alongside her. She replied: “It’s always going to be awkward isn’t it, it’s always going to be weird seeing someone that you’ve been with getting with someone else. I wish my exes nothing but the best. I'm going to be focused on my own journey so if it was to happen I won’t be worrying about them - so I'll stay focussed on my goal, which is to find love.”
And Jake was asked the same question, and he replied: “Well there is only one and that’s Liberty. We never ended with any bad blood between us and everything happens for a reason. We just become two different people in the end.”
