Dyche reacts to Everton's potential second points deduction ahead of crunch date
Sean Dyche admits he’s in the dark over whether Everton will be hit with a second charge for breaching Premier League financial rules.
The Toffees will find out on Monday if they are facing another potential points deduction over profit and sustainability rules. Everton are already appealing a 10-point deduction after a first charge but now face a nervous wait if they’ve got more problems
“We are just waiting on the news,” Dyche said after his side’s goalless draw with Aston Villa . “The last time the news came out of the blue as you know, it might do again, we have to wait and see. You don’t know until you know. I’ll explain further if and when the news comes through.”
Everton had to dig deep to hold onto the point which moves them back one clear of the bottom three. But they were left to rue a missed chance by Dominic Calvert-Lewin when he was put through one-on-one with Villa keeper Emi Martinez.
Calvert-Lewin has not scored in 13 games now going all the way back to the end of October. Dyche said: “We created good chances and particularly one golden chance for Dom.

He'll be like a robot at the end of the week, don't worry. We had the best chance of the game and a couple of other chances. Overall, we'll take the clean sheet and the point.”
Meanwhile, Unai Emery admitted Aston Villa’s draw was “not enough” as the surprise Premier League title contenders suffered a blow at Goodison Park.
The Villa boss endured his first goalless draw as a manager in the competition after 97 games as his side were held by a battling Everton outfit. The draw leaves Villa two points off leaders Liverpool as they slipped to third following Manchester City ’s win over Newcastle on Saturday night.

“We conceded a few chances, but we controlled the game, we created chances to deserve to win the game.
“When we were in the last 15, 20 minutes, we tried to play in the same way and we never lost our minds. We created chances and this is the way. We are increasing our performances. We are feeling confident and playing in the right style.”
Villa were without Jacob Ramsey who was ruled out with injury. Emery added: “We play Chelsea in two weeks [in the FA Cup ] and hopefully his pain is not too much.”
