Michelle Keegan eyes up Hollywood move after success of Netflix's Fool Me Once
Michelle Keegan has set her sights on a Hollywood career following the success of Netflix drama Fool Me Once.
Michelle, 36, who first found fame when she joined Coronation Street playing Tina McIntyre, stars alongside legendary actress Joanna Lumley in the worldwide hit thriller. The drama-series is based on the novel by Harlan Coben's novel, based on crime and betrayal. According to sources in the industry, Michelle is unique as her success following the Netflix hit, has shown that stars do not have to be "plumb voiced" in order garner an international audience.

But they’re likely to have to offer her a six-figure sum to keep her for multiple projects." On the back of Fool Me Once, Michelle has reportedly been inundated by movie scripts as film big wigs fight it out among themselves to make her the latest British actress to appear on the silver screen.
A source told the Mailonline: "The response to Fool Me Once has been overwhelming. The phone calls and offers have been coming in from Hollywood film executives, it's different to anything Michelle has experienced before. Netflix is a global platform and the show has given her the opportunity to shine. Her career has already been a success but now her star is rising, everyone can feel that this is the beginning of something special."

They added: "Michelle feels lucky that she's always played likeable characters but now she's hoping to take it up a notch by landing a film role. She aspires to play a dark character in a hard-hitting thriller, which will be a challenge that she's completely ready for." Michelle's first ever role was on Coronation Street back in 2008 and played the role of Tina for six years.
After she was killed off, she landed a role in BBC's Our Girl and Ten Pound Poms. Despite her success, Michelle recently admitted that she feared she would not get other acting roles when she left the ITV soap. In Fool Me Once, Michelle plays military pilot Maya Stern, who believes she sees her husband who tragically died, on her nanny-cam after his funeral. And she embarks on the pursuit of the truth which leads to an explosive end.
Speaking on the Graham Norton Show last week, she revealed her amazement over the success of the show. She said: 'It's madness that it's number one all over the world. I was always a huge fan of Harlan Coben books so when I got the call it was 'Yes, absolutely,' and I grabbed it with both hands." In 2018, the author signed a five-year deal with Netflix, which allowed the streaming platform to adapt 14 of his novels.
