The Traitors viewers 'unable to sleep' after terrifying scene in latest episode

The Traitors viewers were left "unable to sleep" after some harrowing scenes on the show tonight.

The contestants have been set various missions in a bid to raise money for the eventual winner's prize pot. As well as avoiding being banished or murdered, the group have been set various tasks in order to secure money.

Tonight, the group took on a new challenge which involved them racing through the castle grounds to find scarecrows which had their fellow contestants' names on. They needed to answer the question they were given and use the scarecrow which had the nametag of their answer on to unlock a special box with the next question in it.

When they'd answered all three, they had to run towards the Field of Gold where Claudia and her scarecrow lookalike was waiting for them. However, as they got over the hill, they realised there were hundreds of scarecrows there.

Some of the contestants remarked they were terrified by it, whilst fans felt the same. One wrote: "Okay that’s horrifying #TheTraitors," whilst a second added: "The scarecrows are giving me Jeepers Creepers vibes #thetraitors." A third shared: "Nah the field full of them #TheTraitors," as the fourth shared: "This episode keeps giving full Doctor who vibes #TheTraitors #TheTraitorsUK."

Claudia previously admitted she was "angry" about the fourth Traitor twist.

"I, or we, weren't in control of the fourth, which was – not that I'm a control freak or anything – but I was angry about that! I think they were passionate. You can't show all of those chats because that would be hours, because I do talk to them for a long time," she said.

"Paul was adamant, in the same way Alyssa was in season 1. She was like, 'Give it to me. I've come here for this title and you've got to give it to me!' Harry, because he's compelling and I thought he'd play a good game with that whole, 'You want to kiss me, you want to punch me, I'm going to pretend to be an idiot.' You're not an idiot, so I look forward to what happens here. And Ash, because she really, really wanted to win the money, and she wanted to be a Traitor. They felt like a good trio."

And asked what makes a good Traitor, she added: "Charm, and I think all three of them in their very different ways can charm anybody. If you think about Wilf, if you think about Amanda, who I still miss – we text a lot – and Alyssa, they were charming."
