A delivery driver was left stunned as a "raging" customer asked her to take a cake with "you're dead to us" to an accident and emergency department.

Raven Walker admitted she was baffled to receive the bizarre request after accepting an order for a cake and roses on December 12. The red-faced 36-year-old says she got a 'weird look' from the baker but they completed the order for $27.99 (£22) - and even asked her if she thought it looked okay.

The wild delivery took another twist when she realised the drop off location was the A&E department at Loma Linda University Medical Centre, California, leaving her worried it was a 'sick joke'. Raven has since speculated she could have been delivering it to someone who spends a lot of time at the hospital so they could give it to a 'cheater' in revenge.

The intrigued Instacart delivery driver admits she didn't ask why the customer wanted to send the message as she feared being labelled 'nosey' and given a bad review.

Raven posted the photo to Facebook with the caption 'someone woke up and chose rage today' and it's since earned more than 50,000 likes.

Raven, from San Diego, California, said: "It's definitely the craziest delivery I've made. I was really surprised to see the message and just thought 'someone must be mad'. I asked the baker and he looked at me weird so I explained to him it wasn't for me and I was just doing a delivery. I was quite embarrassed to ask for it. They asked if it was okay and I just said 'I hope so'.

"I was very confused when I realised I was delivering it to the hospital emergency room but I knew there was security at the hospital and I felt safe. It's a pretty sick joke if it's for someone in the hospital but maybe the person I delivered it to was going to send it to a cheater. I didn't think to ask for an explanation because it's none of my business and I didn't want to get a bad review and be called nosey. It definitely made my day interesting."

Raven says the order came from an address around 3.5 miles away from the hospital but she's unsure if she delivered it to the same person or someone else.

Some users have speculated it could have been a joke for someone's last day at work or they're moving house.
