Harry and Meghan 'not welcome' with Royal Family as 'redemption plan' in ruins
It seems Prince Harry and Meghan Markle might never reunite with the Royal Family, with one expert suggesting their 2024 "redemption" plan is in tatters.
Their were rumours that Duke and Duchess of Sussex were desperate to spend Christmas with The Firm in the UK, but instead they spent the festive period at their home in Montecito, California. The Royal Family put on a united front as they gathered at Sandringham.
Royal author Phil Dampier believes the Sussexes missed out on the perfect opportunity to repair their relationship with the Royal Family. He suggested reuniting at Christmas would have also boosted Meghan and Harry's popularity.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry decided not to spend Christmas with the Royal Family (PA)"Harry and Meghan have let it be known that they see 2024 as their year of redemption, to which my reaction is good luck with that. It's a trite phrase dreamt up by their Hollywood PR people and in reality means very little. Actions speak louder than words," he said.

Phil warned Harry and Meghan "need to do things which will convince the public" that they want to "redeem themselves". Speaking to Fabulous magazine, he added: "The royals put on a show of unity at Christmas, with even Prince Andrew’s ex-wife Fergie being allowed to walk to church and join them for lunch. The message was clear - everyone was welcome except Harry and Meghan."
Phil suggested Harry and Meghan are now aware that they can "never compete with an ancient institution" such as the Royal Family. He said Meghan and Harry have isolated themselves by choosing to spend Christmas in California.

Harry also alleged members of Kensington Palace had then "lied to protect my brother".
The Duke of Sussex also took aim at his dad, King Charles and discussed the tense Megxit crisis meeting held with the Queen in January 2020. Harry then further hit out at his family with the release of his debut memoir Spare.
He shocked the world as he wrote about the death of his mother Princess Diana and claimed his father didn't hug him when the news was broken. Harry also detailed an argument that he and his brother Prince William got into back in 2019 when he complained about Meghan. Writing in his book, Harry alleged that William said: "Meg's difficult, she's rude. She's abrasive. She's alienated half the staff." He then added it was "not the first time he'd parroted the press narrative".
Recounting what happened next, Harry wrote: "He grabbed me by the collar, ripping my necklace," before he fell to the ground. He added: "I lay there for a moment, dazed, then got to my feet and told him to get out."
