Teens in danger

This New Year will see several of the village's teenagers put at risk as a joy ride turns to danger. In the upcoming episodes, the adults are occupied at the B&B party to which teenagers Cathy, Angelica and Heath take a joy ride in Wendy Posner's car.

However, the rebellious teenagers' families are unaware of their misbehaving as Nicola demands Jimmy find their whereabouts as she wants them to help with the party. Meanwhile, over in the car, Angelica and Heath flirt as they encourage Cathy to speed up.

Things go from bad to worse when Jimmy struggles to locate the teens while Bob is worried when he discovers Wendy's car is missing. After grilling April, Bob learns they have taken the car and he rushes to Hotten to follow them. The news also gets back to Nicola, who is frustrated to be pulled away from the Chairman.

Over in the car, things take a dangerous turn when an impatience Heath demands Cathy go faster again and when the teen has a near-miss with another car, it doesn't affect her resoluteness as she puts her foot down... will the teenagers be okay and what will happen when they're caught?

Murder and exit fallout

This week on the ITV soap, we saw Charity Dingle accidentally shoot dead villain Harry, who turned out to be Chloe Harris' father Damon Harris. Damon had kidnapped and attacked Mackenzie Boyd over his treatment of Chloe, after the recent crash and him dumping her for Charity.

Things came to a head with Charity and Harry scuffling over a gun, only for it to go off and kill Harry. In the fallout, Chloe fled once again with her and Mack's baby son Reuben, leaving for good. As 2024 hits the village, how will the couple cope with Charity's murderous actions, and the departure of little Reuben?

Next week, Jacob Gallagher and Victoria Sugden come clean about their controversial romance. Last month, the village bid farewell to David Metcalfe as he left the Dales for a new life in London after heartbreak. Soap watchers will recall that David recently got more than he bargained for when he found out about son Jacob and ex Victoria's romance, leaving the soap favourite devastated as he fled the village.

In the upcoming episodes, Gabby Thomas gets the wrong end of the stick as she thinks Jacob's affections are directed towards her rather than Victoria. Gabby worries that Jacob has developed feelings for her and she is determined to set him straight. Yet it's not long until Gabby is astounded to realise the truth about Jacob and Victoria.

As their romance gets rumbled again, the duo are apprehensive to tell Leyla Harding and Eric Pollard about their relationship due to their loyalty to David. Jacob and Victoria arrange a meeting with Eric and Leyla, where they awkwardly admit to their relationship in the pub, which is overheard by a shocked Gail. Things take another dramatic turn when they admit David knew and they were the cause of him departing the village. How will the news go down?
