Emmerdale's Jai Sharma rocked by death bombshell as truth exposed

Emmerdale's Jai Sharma was left reeling on Wednesday night as a huge death bombshell hit the village.

Earlier this year, Amit Sharma made his debut as the father of Jai and Suni headed to the village after a recent DNA bombshell. It comes after Suni found out Jai was his brother and not his cousin in a recent episode, after Suni's father had an affair with Jai's mother Georgia. Georgia fell pregnant, and Rishi Sharma helped her raise his brother's child, claiming Jai to be his own son.

Only recently, Amit's son Suni was left reeling once again after learning that Amit was there when his brother Rishi died, who had been found dead at the bottom of the stairs in a supposed "accidental fall". Amit has insisted he's not responsible for Rishi's death and that it was a tragic accident but Suni had been left wary over his dad.

On Wednesday's episode, Suni insisted he was going to tell Jai the truth and later he dropped the bombshell. He said: "You deserve to know the truth," he added: "Dad was there... the day uncle Rish died. He went to go talk to Rishi, he wanted to try and convince him not to tell you about the adoption, to try and stop him."

Jai was quick to ask: "Are you telling me that he pushed him?" to which Suni clarified: "No, no, no of course not!", he continued: "He wanted to explain it to you but couldn't, Rishi fell, Jai!" Jai was quick to accuse Amit of trying to cover up what 'really happened', claiming he must have killed him.

It comes as Amit star Anil Goutam recently teased a big secret could be on the way while he did not go into detail. Speaking to The Mirror and other press, former EastEnders star Anil teased "dark" scenes for his character, and hinted at big moments ahead.

He said: "So I guess he's the sort of person who you've only seen one aspect of him and he has a side to him. He's quite dark as he has a darker side to him, but not in his own mind. I don't think [he sees it] in his own mind. He does what he does to protect his family, but it's what he thinks is the right thing to do to protect his family. I think he can convince himself of pretty much anything being the right thing to protect his family."

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays.* Follow Mirror Celebs and TV on , , , , and .
