A woman who went through an unbelievable transformation with fake teeth has left viewers stunned - and been dubbed the “denture queen”.

Jessica Wheeler, 38, was left with very few teeth after multiple health issues left her needing most of her teeth removed and dentures put in place. But Jessica has now become an internet sensation after a TikTok showed off her incredible transformation after she put fake teeth in.

Part of the reason her tooth came out was because she can’t eat dairy which left her with a calcium and B12 deficiency, as well as already suffering from a vitamin D deficiency. “To compensate, I now take a multitude of vitamins. While health issues played a role, there were other contributing factors that led to my tooth loss, but I'm not at liberty to discuss them due to safety concerns,” she said.

Jessica first tried to get dental implants before she decided to go for dentures, but her body didn’t respond well. She was also in a battle against temporomandibular joint disorder and while living in an abusive marriage which she emerged from in 2017.

Soon after she left the marriage, the Texas-born Pennsylvania resident decided to have her teeth extracted. “I was put under completely, and all but six of my bottom teeth were pulled,” she explained. “At that time, I called myself a piranha, and I begged for temporary dentures, but they refused, emphasising the importance of healing first.”

It was a tough few months for Jessica - but a period in her life she values highly. “Over the next six months, I transitioned from being unhappy with my appearance to accepting that if someone couldn't love me at my worst, they didn't deserve me at my best,” she said. And it wasn’t long before her story began gaining traction online.

Jessica began documenting her experience, discussing her journey not just for those considering dentures, but to “help other domestic violence survivors”. One video in 2021, titled ‘the last piece of chicken on earth’, made her an internet sensation: “My goal was to normalise the denture experience, making it less weird and more uplifting through laughter,” she added.

With a comedic approach to her content creation, she aimed to create an online community for those who were getting dentures, and now feels she has created a deep connection with her followers. Jessica also travels a lot - which she believes has helped her connect with her followers.

“Staying in one place is hard for me. Travelling has made me realise that we often focus on people's negatives when we should be celebrating their positives. Why fixate on cosmetics, like teeth or dentures, when we can experience the beauty of life and uplift each other along the way?” she explained.

And the TikToker wants to tackle the typical misconceptions surrounding dentures. “I feel that people tend to comment negatively or assume that tooth loss is solely due to drug use. However, it can result from various factors, including alcohol, psychiatric medications, dry mouth, acid reflux, pregnancy, chemotherapy, vitamin deficiencies, and even abusive situations. This stigma needs to be challenged and dispelled.”

But Jessica has still had her fair share of trolls on the internet - but has built a thicker skin against the bullies. “Always remember that you are gorgeous, no matter what,” she said. “Teeth don't define who we are. It's who we are on the inside that truly matters. Other people's opinions are just opinions that shouldn't have a place in your life. The right people will love you for who you are. Stay real, stay true, and always be you, no matter what anyone says!”
