Moment brave boy fights off brutal dad who'd tracked down and attacked mum
Shocking footage has captured the moment a brave boy fought off his father as he brutally beat up his mother who had tried to save him.
The mum, named Ekaterina, had flown 4,000 miles from Irkutsk, Russia, in a bid to track down her beloved son who was taken by her "estranged husband" to the other side of the country. Ekaterina, 41, last saw her son before she split up with her husband.
He had taken their nine-year-old boy to live in the city of Kaliningrad and cut off contact for six months, according to local media. The determined mum managed to locate the pair and confronted her former partner outside of her son's school.
But as she tried to stop them from leaving, he carried out a reverse martial arts kick to her stomach and she fell to the ground. However, as she got up doubled over in agony her courageous son stepped in to stop his father from hitting her again.
The boy hurled himself at his dad, battering him with his fists as he tried to save his mum from an even worse beating. As the dad brushed off his son's attack, he picked him up off the floor but the boy pushed him away and Ekaterina pulled her ex away by his belt.

The furious father then turned around and again put Ekaterina on the ground, and shoved the clearly distressed boy through the school's doors as his mum staggered after them. Russian police are investigating the footage and a court has declared that the boy must be put in his mother's custody.
The boy jumped in to help his mum (Newsflash)She told judges that she feared that her ex, who disappeared with the boy a day later, could harm him. Ekaterina said: "My estranged husband was furious when he found out that my son called me and admitted that he missed me very much.
"I'm afraid that he might harm him in a state of aggression." Ekaterina and the police are trying to track down her estranged husband and her son.
Earlier this month, a teenage girl opened fire at her school by using her father's rifle and then turned the gun on herself. The girl, who was named locally as Alina A, is said to have walked into her biology lesson and carried out the crazed attack.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Bryansk region said in a statement at the time: "Police officers immediately went to the scene. According to preliminary information, one of the students brought a firearm into the gymnasium building and fired several times, as a result of which three people were injured.
After this, the girl committed suicide. The motives and circumstances of the incident are being established.” A student said: "We were just sitting in English and heard gunshots.
"We got up and immediately heard a second, third shot. We panicked, started closing windows, putting desks on top of each other. None of the teachers answered anything. It turned out a girl from the 8th grade came with a gun and started shooting.”
