Strictly's Layton Williams pleads 'leave me alone' to troll over cruel dig

Layton Williams has hit back at a cruel troll as he issued a desperate message to Strictly fans who were "still mad" at his appearance on the show.

The Bad Education star, 29, was paired with pro Nikita Kuzmin in the BBC show and wowed the judges every week their impressive performances. However, the pair struggled with backlash from some fans over Layton's past dance experience. Despite that, the actor danced his way into the final alongside soap stars Bobby Brazier and Ellie Leach, with the latter coming out victorious.

Yet despite the show having finished a week ago, Layton is still receiving nasty DMs from angry fans, with one reading: "Then why are you all over social media and the press complaining you didn't win."

In response, Layton wrote bluntly: "Oh **** off Dave." Sharing a screengrab of the interaction, Layton wrote: "And to anyone else who is still mad literally just leave me alone." Appearing to have received concerned messages after his post, Layton shared a selfie of himself smiling as he wrote: "Btw I'm good. Happy, Hanging & Heading Home. Enjoying some downtime, freedom & soon come a much needed holiday. Love & light to you all. (Apart from people like Dave, you lot can....)"

Ellie became the youngest ever winner as she lifted the Glitterball with professional partner Vito Coppola last Saturday, despite scoring the lowest on the judges' leaderboard. Layton and Nikita Kuzmin scored a near-perfect 119 out of 120, followed by Bobby Brazier and Dianne Buswell with 117. Ellie and Vito achieved 115, though the judges' scores are not taken into account during the final.

After enjoying the Strictly after-party - which continued until the early hours - Layton had returned to Instagram to share a post from a devastated fan. In the post, the person had shared a photo of their young son in a glittery turquoise dress. They wrote: "A lot of heart break in our house today over the @bbcstrictly result. @lautonwilliams @nikita_kuzmin thank you from the bottom of our hearts for showing him that being fully, fabulously, unapologetically himself is to be celebrated."

In response, Layton posted a heart and tearful emoji. He went on to share a photo of himself in a bubble bath as he held up a mug and wrote: "Aaaaannnd... Relax."

Meanwhile Dianne also spoke out after losing out in the final with a sweet message to EastEnders star Bobby as she hailed him as a "wonderful human". She added that the only competition that he had was with himself and that she was a "proud teacher".
