Bride ruins £12k dress on wedding day after mortifying toilet accident
A wedding planner has shared a horrific true story which saw her "sponging down a sobbing, naked bride" after a mortifying toilet-related accident.
The bride inadvertently ruined her special day - and her £12,000 dress - after deciding to drink a series of detox drinks to fix her last-minute bloating. Her planner was first alerted that there was a major issue when she heard the dreaded words "we have an issue" over her headset.
She took to Reddit to share the horrifying details, which she admits still make her cringe. Her post attracted more than 5,000 comments with most users being pretty "grossed out" by the turn of events and others labelling her a "hero" and a "champ".
Things didn't exactly start well, with the planner claiming the bride had been quite the "bridezilla" from day one. She wanted the reception to take place in a historic barn at one of the family properties, which caused numerous issues.
It had no water or electricity, leaving the planner to arrange for a bank of generators, buckets of water, and additional auxiliary tents since the barn wasn't big enough to house all the guests.

After hearing what had happened, the planner told guests there would be a short delay before heading to the loo to help her poor assistant, who was cleaning the bride off with toilet paper.
She claims the bride had let out "a substance no human body should emit". She writes: "I'm just looking at her manicured nails. Residue of diarrhoea are just embedded in her nail bed. I start trying to scrape the poo out with a fabric stain wipe."
But the bride insisted the show must go on. Despite the stench that she brought out of the bathroom with her - which the groom noticed - the newlyweds took their place on the dance floor to start the choreographed number.
According to the planner: "As the groom spun his bride around, hand on her waist, he is squishing the poo up the insides of the waist trainer, up and out the back waistband.
"To our horror, we watch as a oily stain spread across the mid back of the gown. As we are still cringing from this, the groom sets his hand firmly in the middle of the poo stain."
After the couple fed cake to each other, both repulsed at their poo-stained hands, the planner pulled the bride into the support tent to salvage the situation.
She said she was left "sponging down a sobbing, naked bride, while I questioned every life decision that led to this point."
Five minutes into the clean-up, the bride was dressed again - minus the inner lining of the dress - and returned to the celebration, a little worse for wear. Despite the disaster, pictures from the day still appeared in a magazine, and were beautiful. Thankfully, no one could smell them...
