The Duchess of Sussex wrote a cheque worth €4,600 to the TrebeCafé, also known as the Diakonie Düsseldorf, a non-profit organization in Germany that provides safe temporary housing for homeless young women and girls. Meghan's donation comes after she previously pledged to help the organisation while she was visiting Europe with her husband Price Harry for the Invictus Games. In addition to the kind donation, the mother-of-two also donated multiple boxes of cosmetics to the young women living there.

Maria Peixoto, the manager of the TrebeCafé, told German news outlet NRZ that the women at the shelter are very thankful when luxury makeup products are donated. She explained: "For many of our visitors, mascara or lipstick are hardly affordable luxury products. Beautifying yourself also means doing something good for yourself. And the women who visit us and have often experienced bad things can really use this.”

At the shelter, professionals offer one-on-one guidance relating to their living situations, matters related to authorities, parents, their lifestyle, training, school, and addiction.

During her trip to the shelter, Meghan was put to work as the group had her chopping up vegetables alongside all of the other volunteers. She happily obliged and chatted with the other women living and working at the organization.
