For some, one of the best things about receiving a present for Christmas is unwrapping it and slowly revealing what's inside - so one person felt cheated that their Secret Santa didn't do it for them.

Some people put a lot of time and effort into their gift wrapping, with festive paper, ribbons and bows - while others opt for a gift bag. However, one woman was baffled when her 'ungrateful' colleague received her Secret Santa gift was complained about her gift wrapping efforts.

The woman had taken time to pick out a gift for her colleague she had picked in Secret Santa at work, but because it was an "awkward shape," she just put it in a gift bag. Taking to Babycentre's forum, the anonymous woman asked: "If you put something in a gift bag do you still wrap it? We did Secret Santa at work and the gift I bought was an awkward shape so I put it in a gift bag."

However, instead of concentrating on the effort that had gone into picking the perfect gift, the receiver "was not happy and moaned repeatedly that the gift wasn't wrapped". She added: "Am I being unreasonable to think this is really rude? I felt like taking the gift back off the ungrateful d**k!"

"Or am I the one who needs to up my wrapping game" I can't imagine having the energy to be so p***ed off about how something is/isn't wrapped."

The woman received a lot of support from fellow forum users, with many agreeing that they would never wrap a present that was inside a gift bag, but might instead put some tissue paper on top to conceal what's inside. Several pointed to the fact that it wouldn't be good for the environment to wrap the gift.

One person wrote: "Surely your way was the most environmentally friendly option anyway, how rude of that person! Also not everyone can afford wrapping paper at the moment imagine completely disregarding that and potentially embarrassing someone or making them feel bad."

Another commented: "A bag would make it easy for them to carry home, I really don't see the problem? Plus they can reuse it for someone else, I love getting gift bags for that exact reason."
