YouTube blogger's family share 'regret' after she admits to abusing her children
The family of disgraced vlogger Ruby Franke have spoken out after the evil mum admitted to abusing her children and making videos about it for YouTube.
Franke, a mum-of-six from Utah, for trying to convince her two youngest children they were evil, possessed and needed to be punished to repent.
Now one of Franke's family members has spoken out after watching the disgraced mum admit to her crimes and say they are left wondering if they could have done more. On Monday she stood in shackles wearing the grey and white jail clothing as she closed her eyes and took a deep breath before pleading guilty to each of her first three charges.

In a statement provided to 2News, Jennifer Franke, Ruby’s sister-in-law. She is married to Aaron, Ruby's ex-husband Kevin Franke's brother. She wrote: "Aaron and I are absolutely heartbroken at what we know happened to the children. I am so deeply sorry and saddened by what those children endured. We feel awful and are struggling with a lot of grief and emotions about all that has happened."

Police move in to arrest Franke (ABC/Springville Police Dept)In the plea agreement, Franke admits that she tortured her son from May 22 through Aug. 30 by forcing him into hours of physical tasks, summer work outdoors without adequate water and “repeated and serious sunburns” that blistered. He was denied food or given very plain meals, and he was isolated from other people without access to books, notebooks or electronics.
After he tried to run away in July, his hands and feet were regularly bound, sometimes with handcuffs. At times, ropes were used to tie together handcuffs that secured his hands and feet as he lay on his stomach, lifting his arms and legs off the ground and injuring his wrists and ankles, the plea agreement said.

Jennifer Franker added: "It’s been very, very hard on Aaron and I because we wonder what more we should have done, or if there was something we could’ve done to help prevent this tragedy and protect the two young children that were hurt. We hope that those children will know that they are not alone, and while sorry isn’t enough for all you’ve been through, you do have family close by who love you and know that none of what happened to you was your fault. “
Franke appears during a virtual court hearing (AP)Judge John J. Walton scheduled sentencing for February 20 after accepting the plea agreement, which described new details of the abuse the children endured, including the claims that they were possessed. Under the plea agreement, Franke agreed to serve a prison term and the sentences will run consecutively. Sentencing would be up to the judge.
Franke pleaded not guilty to two other counts, court records said, and was returned to custody after the hearing. Her husband has filed for divorce since the scandal first erupted.
