Meghan Markle's acting skills get mixed reviews in 'cleverly done' comeback

Meghan Markle played a busy, bumbling intern in the advert for Clevr Blends, the coffee company she invests in.

Making her acting comeback, the Duchess of Sussex was seen handing out cups of coffee to the lead actress in the clip, taking phone calls, fist-bumping her colleagues and typing away at a computer. Royal fans took to X, formerly Twitter to share their thoughts on seeing Meghan back on their screens.

One wrote: "A+ marketing from #clevrblends Love to see Meg having fun in front of the camera again. I’ve missed her on my screen." While a second added: "She was the brand first investor and she is sticking with them… That’s how loyal #MeghanMarkle is. Love to hear her smile btw."

One put: "Hahaha! This video is so contrived. Looks more like a project straight out of middle school." And another chimed in: "Oh yes the comeback - a coffee ad where she has no lines and a total of 20 sec in 3 different scenes. Yep that’s winning thriving alright."

A third commented: "I’m not a MM fan but honestly, I don’t think much of this. Her laugh at end is actually funny & genuine." Of course, Meghan is no stranger to the acting world, having starred in Netflix's legal drama Suits in a recurring role as Rachel Zane.

She's also starred in Hollywood movies like Remember Me, Get Him To The Greek and Horrible Bosses. While Meghan shot to fame as an actress, she stepped back from the glitzy career when she got engaged to Prince Harry in 2017.

Despite the couple stepping back from the Royal Family three years ago, Meghan is yet to return to her former career. Royal commentator Kinsey Schofield suggested why they might be struggling to break into a Hollywood career. She told The Times that the Sussexes created "too much content too soon, sharing too much".
