EastEnders 'foreshadows Christmas death' in new clue about mystery cufflinks

EastEnders saw attention brought back to the mystery cufflinks, that will be worn by the Christmas Day murder victim.

Viewers of the soap know that whoever dies on Christmas Day will be wearing a pair of amber jewelled cufflinks, as well as a suit. But given the antics of Alfie Moon in the latest episode, it really could be anyone who is killed off next week.

The character was seen selling loads of the outfit piece just days before someone wearing a pair is killed off. Meanwhile, Phil Mitchell still has the original pair given to him by Jack Branning, who got them from original owner Nish Panesar - and all three men are potential victims.

But as more residents of Walford no doubt purchase the items, and with a recent promo image showing all seven possible victims wearing the very same cufflinks, it really does suggest anyone could die in the big scenes. Back in February, we found out that one mystery male character will be killed off at The Queen Vic at Christmas.

One of six female characters are tipped to be the killer, with Suki Panesar, Kathy Beale, Linda Carter, Denise Fox, Stacey Slater and Sharon Watts all at the scene of the crime. Sharon walks over to the mystery body on the floor and confirms he is dead.

Clues, motives and possible victims have been revealed since the clip aired, and we now have seven possible victims including Phil, Keanu Taylor, Dean Wicks, Nish, Ravi Gulati, Rocky Cotton and Jack. With just one week to go until the big event, fans are seeing some final clues and hints as to what happens.

Alfie was seen 'illegally' selling products on the market in the latest episode, with market inspector Honey Mitchell catching him in the act. As she threatened him with a fine, Alfie begged her to let him sell his stock, suggesting he would have sold out by the end of the day.

Honey did a deal with him, and allowed him to carry on as long as he sold the items as part of Billy Mitchell's stall. He agreed and even offered them some of the money he made.

It's then that Honey asked to see what it was he was selling, and as he opened up the closed case to reveal its contents we were reminded of the Christmas death all over again. In the box was several pairs of the very same cufflinks worn by the victim this Christmas.

The identical cufflinks will now be sold to residents, with all seven victims expected to own a pair given a promo image showed them all wearing them. Phil quipped to Billy and Alfie he already had a pair exactly like the ones Alfie was selling, while Alfie and Billy revealed a huge amount of cash they had raised from their sale.

So now a vital piece of evidence as to who dies is back at the centre of the show, could it hint at the victim? Might we see the victim buying a pair this week? Viewers will have to tune in to find out.
