Alongside several images, his caption read: "It’s Panto time! Pinocchio with [CBeebie's Bonkers bros Danny & Mick] had Rex In stitches." Jonnie's day out with Rex comes days after revealing that he is now using an electrical physiotherapy machine at home to help build up his leg muscles.

In an update to fans, the dad took a picture of himself strapped to the machine and captioned the post: "Trying out my @enovis_uk_ireland machine whilst watching Spurs come good as I hoped they would. For me especially this was a 'pulsating win' Keeping my joy on the DL as Mrs I not very happy..." Electric physiotherapy helps patients by releasing endorphins that decrease pain or discomfort and improves blood circulation.

Determined to remain active, he also shared a picture of himself at a supermarket with a trolley full of goods. In his caption he wrote: "I only came out for some bog rolls! Still, I'II look forward to getting through my 1000 yoghurts!" Last month, Jonnie amazingly celebrated his 50th birthday in Spain after being told he had only six months to live, two years ago.

The TV presenter spent time in the Costa Del Sol with his wife and three children. Speaking of being able to celebrate his milestone, he told Hello!: "I feel really privileged to be able to celebrate my birthday looking at blue skies and with sand between my toes. I had an early birthday party at the start of the year because I didn't think I'd make it. It was like being at my own wake; lots of fun, lots of dancing. But here I am. I view it as a complete triumph."

Jonnie says his illness has made him appreciate every day. He added: "Every little thing is so valuable to me, even kicking the ball against the wall for half hour. It's so special and being away with my wife and kids for my 50th is brilliant." Posting a video of himself at the airport ahead of his flight, he told his fans: "I woke up this morning feeling a bit better, still slightly jaundice-y, but I'm about to jump on a flight to southern Spain. I did clear it with with my oncologist, and he said, "Well, there are hospitals in Spain and in fairness, you don't play by the rules anyway." But my thoughts are, that's probably part of my success so far!"

He continued: "Hopefully my liver continues to get a bit better and me and my family, we wake up tomorrow, to blue skies in southern Spain... Bon voyage to us." And he captioned his video: 'Time for some current bun and a break from hospitals and builder and them a break from me!"

Last Christmas, Jonnie said he had been too scared to tell his children it might be his last with them. Speaking in December 2022 he said: "If you have 20 days left, why spend them in mourning and confusion?

"Why not just have 15 days of pure, blissful ignorance and five days of knowing the facts? I'm not looking forward to the chat with Rex. We're still thinking about it. I've learnt that it's best to do nothing if you're unsure."
