Tiger Woods could hardly hide his pride after son Charlie showed he is a chip off the old block with a perfectly executed flop shot during a warm-up at the 2023 PNC Championship.

The father-son duo are among the big names that have descended on the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in Orlando to take part in the latest edition of the 36-hole team tournament. Woods was appearing with his 14-year-old son for a fourth time and they wasted no time in getting re-acquainted with the course.

Dad Tiger met son Charlie at the short game area before the latter hit a shot that left both beaming from ear to ear after a particularly memorable moment. The youngster's technique was reminiscent of his dad at his best, as the teenager took a full backswing and effortlessly executed a perfect flop shot.

"The ending on that right there, that was nasty. F****** nasty," Tiger said approvingly, before proceeding to clap slowly at his son - much to his delight. Likewise, young Charlie's joy at impressing his 15-time Major champion dad was palpable and he turned towards his dad while sporting a grin.

With Charlie having pulled off a sumptuous high-lofted chip, his dad was so suitably impressed that he decided that they should wrap up their warm up. Prior to this, they had been catching up with Annika Sorenstam, Steve Stricker and Mark O'Meara as they shared an embrace with their old friends and acquaintances.

They will tee off at 9 a.m. ET for the Friday Pro-Am and have been paired up with family friends Justin Thomas and Mike Thomas for the first couple of rounds of the PNC Championship. They are due to tee off at 8:22 a.m. ET on Saturday, as they join each other for a fourth year running at the Orlando tournament.

As for Tiger and Charlie, it is clear that golf is something they bond over, with a source telling PEOPLE that the sporting icon takes a relaxed approach when guiding his son on the right path in the game. The source claimed: "Tiger loves spending time with Charlie on the golf course, but he has a completely different vibe than Earl had while working with him.

"They're all smiles. Tiger is definitely teaching him the right techniques, but there's not the intensity that Earl had with him. It's a total bonding situation. Tiger can get goofy and funny with Charlie. It's not 'all work and no play' like Earl could sometimes get."

Tiger himself admitted that he relishes the opportunity to compete alongside his son in events such as the PNC Championship, telling ESPN. "Any time I get a chance to spend time with my son, it's always special and to do it in a competitive forum, the last couple of years have been magical, and to be able to do it again, we're looking forward to it."

After Tiger caddied for Charlie at the Last Chance Regional in Florida in September 2023, the former also opened up on the joy he derives from spending time with his son on the course, adding: "We just stay in our own little world. We take it one shot at a time."
