Britney Spears' dad seen in wheelchair for first time since leg amputation

Britney Spears dad has been seen out in a wheelchair for the first time since having his leg amputated.

Jamie Spears, 71, was phototgraphed at a warehouse in Kentwood, LA on Tuesday, as he got help getting out of the passenger side of the car and into a wheelchair. He wore a olive green sweatshirt underneath a black puffer jacket and black trousers with one leg tied in a knot just below where the limb was amputated four inches above the knee last month.

Jamie was rushed to hospital with a "severe infection" back in October and at the time, a source revealed he required surgery and had to spend weeks in a special infectious disease facility. A source told TMZ that he had a "massive infection" in one of his legs and following five unsuccessful surgeries to try and contain the infection doctors decided to amputate.

Speaking to TMZ, the source said Jamie "is not doing well". They added: "He's had other ailments and has been downcast amid the torrent of criticism over his handling of the conservatorship." Now it seems that Britney could be set to take further steps in making amends with her family as the source told the outlet she even talked about sending him money to help him out. They added that there is "nothing he'd [Jamie] rather have" than a reconciliation with Britney.

However, despite reuniting with her mother Lynne Spears and reported plans to see sister Jamie Lynn as well, it appears that the situation between Britney and her dad remains tense after her lengthy conservatorship under his care. While Britney, 42, has often spoken out against the legal ruling in recent years since it was lifted and the decisions her father made for her, including in her recent tell-all memoir Woman In Me, it does appear she has "softened" towards him according to TMZ.

The potential for reconciliation with her father comes after Britney reunited with her estranged mother Lynne Spears. The Toxic hitmaker looked blissfully happy as she cuddled up to her mom in snaps shared on social media. Lynne posted the touching pictures on Instagram and in one photo, Britney was seen hugging her mom as they cuddled up on the sofa.

While some fans were stunned to see Britney back with her mom, who she has publicly criticised in the past, one source revealed that she had been working on repairing her fractured relationship with Lynne for several weeks. The source told TMZ that Britney had invited her mom out to Los Angeles to celebrate her 42nd birthday.

She also invited older brother Bryan Spears, and both he and their mom were spotted arriving at Britney’s birthday party on Friday night. Now, Britney is reportedly trying to re-establish her relationship with her younger sister.
