Fortnite Crackshot's Cabin – Winterfest edition of Loot Island is coming soon
Fortnite Winterfest kicked off today, but players have already hit a roadblock with one of the missions regarding Crackshot's Cabin.
Fortnite Winterfest 2023 is live and the typical batch of Fortnite event missions are available in-game now. However, players have quickly noticed that one of these missions is incompletable currently. The third mission of the Ship It! Express Snapshot questline urges you to "Visit Crackshot's Cabin when the floating loot island appears".
The Floating Loot Island has been a staple of Fortnite for a while now. This POI appears when the game gets close to the end, with a giant island appearing in the sky. This island harbours some of the best loot you can find in the game, giving you an extra advantage towards the end of a match, at the risk of other players also swarming the island.
For Fortnite Winterfest 2023, which has launched after the Fortnite Lego, Fortnite Rocket Racing and Fortnite Festival modes were introduced, the Floating Loot island has been replaced with Crackshot's Cabin – which is a staple of Fortnite Winterfest. At least, that's what was supposed to happen. Players have quickly noticed that the Floating Loot island that's spawning in matches currently is the regular bog-standard island and not the Crackshot's Cabin variant of the island that will let you complete the mission. We've checked this out for ourselves and Crackshot's Cabin is definitely not appearing at the time of writing.
Epic Responds
Epic Games has acknowledged the problem on the @FortniteStatus Twitter account, posting a tweet saying "The Winterfest edition of Loot Island is arriving momentarily, which will allow players to complete the quest to 'Visit Crackshot's Cabin", so hopefully this issue doesn't persist for too much longer and we can get that XP soon. And, hopefully, the upcoming Fortnite Winterfest 2023 quests will go off without a hitch.
Why Star Wars Jedi: Survivor's six week delay is a good thing
In a blog post, Epic confirmed some of the unvaulted items that players can use in-game once again, thanks to Fortnite Winterfest 2023:
Throw down Holiday Presents! to open them up and grab the loot inside.
Put on the Sneaky Snowmando disguise to give your enemies a seasonal surprise.
Unleash frozen fury with the explosive Snowball Launcher.
Consume a Snowy Flopper to restore some Health and give yourself icy feet.
Fling yourself with the Icy Grappler and land with icy feet. (The Icy Grappler will be unvaulted later during Winterfest.)
The Fortnite Winterfest 2023 event will run from December 14, 2023 to January 2, 2024, with players able to claim 14 free gifts as part of the event, including two new Outfits.
