Oprah Winfrey talks body transformation as she admits to taking weight-loss drug
Oprah Winfrey has addressed her weight loss and reflected on years of body shaming, describing it as a "public sport" to make fun of her.
The star explained that she's now on a weight loss journey and isn't afraid to admit that she's getting a little extra help. She dished that she's using a "medically approved prescription" alongside an exercise and diet. After experiencing years of weight fluctuations, she found a routine that worked for her.
Oprah admitted she's "releasing her shame" around using what she describes as a "tool". She didn't identify what prescription she's on, but drugs like Ozempic and Monjourno have been causing a lot of buzz in the medical and weight loss fields.

I’m absolutely done with the shaming from other people and particularly myself."

The talk show host explained that her sentiments about the drug changed after a discussion with clinicians for her Oprah Daily’s Life You Want series. Much of the stigma against drug usage and obesity vanished for her and she began to see obesity as a "disease" that had nothing to do with someone's "willpower".

She began incorporating more exercise into her lifestyle, including hiking which she set goals for herself that led to her feeling stronger and more fit. Plus, she focused on her diet, explaining that she eats her last meal at 4 o'clock and drinks at least a gallon of water today. The TV producer also counts her WeightWatchers points as a way to stay on track.
While she's been exercising more ever since she healed from her knee surgery, she didn't start taking the prescription drug until just before Thanksgiving. During that time of hefty eating, she began to see results because she gained less weight than normal for that time of year.
She also explained that she's not necessarily centering the numbers on the scale in her approach. Instead, Oprah just wants a "second shot for [her] to live a more vital and vibrant life".
