A man nicknamed the 'Brixton R Kelly', manipulated and raped six young girls in south London, a court has heard.

After a trial at Inner London Crown Court, Kevarnie Queen, was found guilty of 22 counts of rape relating to six young victims. The 19-year-old's crimes were disclosed in detail at a sentencing hearing on December 13, where his victims opened up on the psychological and physical damage the criminal had caused them - with one referring to him as a "demon".

The court listened to the details, with one victim confessing that she'd attempted suicide up to seven times, while three others admitted that the rapist had given them sexually transmitted infections (STIs). The victims who attended the court were left in tears as prosecutor Laurie-Anne Power KC read out their words.

The perpetrator, wearing a grey hoodie over the top of a white T-shirt with a red cross necklace around his neck, showed a lack of interest and zero remorse as his victims delivered their stories. The man, who regularly ambushed the innocent women in communal stairwells near his home has been branded as the "Brixton R Kelly" in reference to the American pop star who was convicted of several child sex offences.

Queen groomed all but one of his victims via social media, where he would play mind games, and regualry make comments about their bodies, the court heard. His first victim, who has since had a child with another man, was raped by Queen when the pair were only 15. His actions had a lasting impact, with her isolating herself for years, with a fear of leaving the house.

The brave woman wrote: “I live in constant fear. I cannot erase the memories of what Kevarnie did to me. I often cry myself to sleep. I hope being in prison helps Kevarnie learn how to respect women. I hate Kevarnie for what he did to me.”

Another of his victims decided to address him directly, opening up on the damage he's responsible for: "The pain you have caused in my life will never be forgotten. I have tried to commit suicide three different times. At one point, I started taking drugs to numb the pain. I suffer from PTSD. Every time I see a girl child I pray they will avoid meeting a demon like you. To hear you have other victims after me proves that you are heartless.

“When I look at myself in the mirror, I see a damaged soul. My insecurities were used against me with [Queen’s] constant body shaming. I trusted him, and he betrayed me. He gave me his word and broke it on November 4, 2019, when he first raped me in a communal stairwell in a block opposite [Queen’s home].”

A third victim recounted the horrific ordeal she experienced through being in an abusive relationship with Queen for two years, claiming that he was only sorry because he got caught. She said: "The only way I can describe him for what he did to me is evil. We were in a relationship for two years. I am confident in saying he is not sorry for what he has done.

“He is only sorry he got caught. He didn’t treat me like a human. He wouldn’t allow me to speak about my feelings. My worst nightmare was that nothing would happen, and [Queen] would continue to rape girls and rob them of their innocence. He seemed so disinterested [whilst I gave evidence during trial], as if he didn’t care what was happening and how serious the case was. I know him well enough to know that he was thinking he would get away with it. [Queen] was and always will be a danger to all girls and women.”

A fourth victim's mother informed the court that her beloved daughter suffered "years of suffering" in just a few hours, with Queen's evil antics rendering her a "shell" of the girl she used to be. The victim, who is a Christian said: “I am a Christian and wanted my first time to be with a person who I had married.

"Kevarnie has taken that away from me. I didn’t want to have sex, but he didn’t care. What he did to me had a detrimental effect on my mental health. I still have nightmares to this day… I don’t think that will ever go away.”

Laurie-Anner Power suggested that Queen ought to be sentenced as a 15-year-old as this the age he was when his horror spree began. However, others believe he should feel the full brunt of the law. He is currently remanded in 24-hour isolation, after reportedly being stabbed twice in prison.

Queen will be sentenced on December 18.
