Lionesses star feels wrath of Ferguson during 'telling off' in Man Utd stands
It's been a decade since Sir Alex Ferguson left his position as manager of Manchester United - but it seems 'Fergie Time' is still a factor when he's watching games.
Famous for pointing at his watch to pressurise referees, the term was also a tribute to the number of late winners United scored during his reign. Indeed, the build-up to Tuesday's clash with Bayern Munich has triggered numerous references to that 1999 Champions League final, when his side memorably scored twice in injury time to secure glory at the Nou Camp.
Ferguson was in attendance at Old Trafford last Wednesday when United beat Chelsea 2-1, thanks to a brace from Scott McTominay. But prior to his fellow countryman's second-half winner, the legendary Scot gave one famous spectator a ticking off - albeit in a playful manner.
England and United women's midfielder Ella Toone was sitting close to Ferguson in the directors' box, but belatedly returned to her seat for the second half. The 81-year-old wasn't about to let it slide, and according to the gave her a light-hearted telling off.
Toone, who has scored twice in nine games this season, is regarded as one of the squad's most pivotal players. Indeed, she was also pivotal to the World Cup campaign with the Lionesses, starting the World Cup final where they were beaten 1-0 by Spain.

Following her ticking off, Toone watched on for the remainder as Erik ten Hag's side took a welcome three points. She was then both on time and on target for Sunday's WSL clash at Tottenham. She scored the second goal in an eventual 4-0 win, leaving the side fourth in the table.

Ferguson and fellow United fans, meanwhile, will crave some kind of repeat result which was achieved against Bayern more than 24 years ago. And even a win for the Red Devils won't be enough unless the clash between Copenhagen and Galatasaray ends in a draw.
An early Champions League exit would pile the pressure on Erik ten Hag, following the 3-0 loss to Bournemouth on Saturday. The club are currently sixth in the Premier League, and struggling to secure a place at Europe's top table next season.
