A 'gamer girl' has been left cringing with embarrassment after having the police called on her for making too much noise when playing on the PlayStation. She shared how she had been on a losing streak on Overwatch 2, but after putting in extra effort, she started winning and couldn't contain her excitement.

She was shouting at her virtual foes, unaware that her neighbours could hear her through the wall. She posted on Reddit: "I had the cops called on me for playing video games. I was yelling 'Play of the game!' and yelling at the enemies (to myself, voice chat is off). A cop ended up coming to my door and said a neighbour had called worried that I was being harmed."

"She said it wasn't a noise violation, they were just worried. Guess I need to be a little quieter." While she appreciated her neighbours' concern, she felt a bit embarrassed about the whole situation.

One user commented on her post: "I guess it's better they were worried. I was having game night with my cousins and we got noise complained saying "we got a call about some physical disturbances?" They thought we were fighting each other when we were just yelling callouts and at each other."

Another user chimed in: "My upstairs neighbour is a gamer, and he's really loud when he plays. If I didn't know what games he was playing from the sounds and my own gaming experience, I'd have thought he was in trouble many times. It's easy to forget how loud you're being when you're engrossed in a game, but I can see how someone who doesn't play could get it wrong."

A third user shared: "Never had the police called on me, but everyone in this house knows I'm a gamer. Even here in Germany, you'd show the officers your game and gaming setup, maybe even chat about it if they're gamers too. In the end, they'd tell you to lower your volume and wish you a good day."
