Shortly after the cast members gasped in disbelief, the presenter continued: "Yes that just happened! I know the final season, as we know is broken into to two parts. The second part premieres this Thursday and it's all about the young royals who are right here. That is the first time in that category any show has been nominated every single season it has been on. So you are already part of greatness."
Luther, who was still a student at the time of being cast for the role of Prince Harry, said he felt like royalty as he was picked up by a chauffeur from the apartment he shared with roommates in Bournemouth, and driven to the set. Before The Crown, Luther had never been on a professional set or had considered acting as an occupation. But when Netflix announced that it would welcome applications from newcomers for the part of Prince Harry, a friend to him to audition.
In October last year, he landed the role and by November he started filming the show. Luther was studying filmmaking production. The first part of series six takes place in the summer of 1997 around the time Princess Diana was involved in a fatal car crash. The final episodes of part one see both Prince William and Prince Harry struggling to cope with their mother's death. While William heads to college and meets Kate Middleton, Harry struggles to find purpose, and his drinking starts to concern the family.

In an interview, when asked how he feels about the Royal family he told the New York Times: "They are embedded in British culture whether you like it or not. I didn’t love them or hate them, I was semi-impartial. The fact that I didn’t know a huge amount about the royal family and the fact that I had been cast, that kind of made me feel like, OK, well, there must be something I’m doing that just works for the character."
The Royal Family's infamous scandals could be set to feature in a brand new Netflix spin-off after The Crown comes to an end. Sarah Ferguson's toe-sucking scandal could feature, as well as Prince Andrew's romance with US former actress Koo Stark, says executive producer Andy Harries.
