Mind-boggling maths equation leaves people 'with a headache'

This complicated mathematical brain teaser has left social media users stumped as participants left with range of different answers.

Whether you were a maths whizz at school, or if it was your most dreaded subject, we can all remember sitting in class trying to figure out maths equations. So why not brush up on your maths skills and see if you can figure out the answer to this IQ question?

The baffling equation was shared on X (formerly Twitter) by @briwe and generated over 100 different answers. Players are asked to solved a sum of codes of tables, blue paper roles, and alarm clocks. There are three sums that have already been solved and serve as a key clue to cracking the code.

The first equation shows three alarm clocks reading 02.00. The three had been added together to make total of six. The next one shows only one of the alarm clocks, and two four-legged tables totalling 10. The third sum shows one four-legged table, six rolls of blue paper, and another six rolls of blue paper. The answer totals 16.

The fourth sum - the hardest of them all - is left for players to solve. In this one, there are four blue paper rolls, three-legged table, and an alarm clock reading 05.00. A number of people who took on the challenge guessed 12, 24, and 40.

Another added: "Possibly 15, since the clock time changed." One person confessed they were left with "a headache" after trying to work out the correct answer.

A number of people said they worked out the sum equals 19.

Sharing how they worked it out, one individual said: "Paper is 4, table is 3 (notice legs) and clock is 5. 3x5 = 15 +4 = 19,' while another agreed, commenting, '19 plus or minus a foot. I'm just saying."
