A murder probe has been launched after a newborn baby was found dead outside a home in Suffolk.

Officers were called to reports that a baby had been found outside a home on Norwich Road in Ipswich. Paramedics also rushed to the scene but the baby was sadly pronounced dead.

The baby's death is being treated as unexplained and an investigation has been launched. Two men and a woman have been arrested on suspicion of murder.

A police cordon is in place within Norwich Road as enquiries take place. Detective Chief Superintendent Jane Topping said: "This is a very sad and distressing incident.

"At this time, our investigation into the circumstances surrounding the baby’s death is in its early stages. I would urge people not to speculate on social media as to the circumstances of this tragic event."
