People only just realising there's a hidden dishwasher button for pint glasses

Dishwashers are something that many of us have come to rely on heavily - but people are just realising that there's a hidden button to make washing pint glasses a whole lot easier.

Have you ever come to put a pint glass, or wine glass into the dishwasher, and spent ages trying to find the best way to fit it in without breaking? The likelihood is that you've broken a glass or two courtesy of the dishwasher, too. Thankfully, a mum, who posts as @babychickofficial, shared "The dishwasher hack that I needed to know years ago" to try and solve your washing woes.

Over the top of the short clip, she asked: "Ever put something tall in the top rack of the dishwasher that doesn't fit?" and she explained a way to combat the issue. "Press the side buttons to lower the rack, and voila. If you need to adjust again, press the side buttons and lift the rack", she said.

This will mean that you'll be able to fit pint and wine glasses, and even plastic water bottles, in with ease, rather than struggling with them. It's important to remember that some appliances may vary. Some dishwashers might not have this function at all, while others may have an alternative to the button function.

Another woman shared the hack, and people flocked to the comments to share that they couldn't believe this was news to them. One wrote: "I am so glad you posted this. I couldn't figure it out before", while someone else hailed the hack as a "game changer."

A TikTok user even joked that they were glad they'd spent over "1,000 hours" on the video-sharing platform because it was "worth it" to find out this handy dishwasher hack.
