Today, Manchester Crown Court heard Girl X, one of the two teenagers accused of planning and carrying out the murder of Brianna Ghey, had an "interest in serial killers"

Brianna was stabbed 28 times with a hunting knife in her head, chest, back and neck in Culcheth Linear Park, near Warrington, Cheshire, in February this year, before dog walkers found her body. The defendants, Girl X and Boy, were aged 15 at the time and both deny murder.

The juey has heard that they allegedly extensively discussed killing the innocent schoolgirl, including boasting about how they couldn't wait to hear her scream, and wanted to take gruesome trophies from their murder.

Girl X says she talked about giving tablets to Boy Y but says she "had no intent of doing so".

Asked about conversations in which she said she needed help killing two other people.

"It was another fantasy," she says.

Asked why she mentioned two boy's name, she says: "I was really annoyed with them because both of them upset Boy O (her boyfriend)."

Asked about another boy who in messages she said "deserves to die" after she had a "grievance" with him, Girl X denies having any intent to kill him.

Mr Pratt asks about another boy who Girl X said she wanted to kill.

Girl X said she "didn't like" the boy.

"I thought he would be good to put in one of these fantasies," she says.

Girl X said they could kill Boy this Saturday at 1pm because he was the "easiest".

Boy Y said: “Could I stab him”.

Girl X said: "Sure… I know a hidden spot nobody goes to in linear park.

In court Girl X denied that she knew a hidden spot.

"Linear Park is a public forest so there isn't any hidden spots, I made that bit up," she says.

She said it was to "add to the fantasy".

Asked how well she knew the park, she says: "I would go there quite often with my friends and walk my dog."

She says of the park at weekends: "There was usually lots of people on the weekends walking their dog."

The trial has now adjourned, to return on Monday at 10am.

'I need help killing boy who might get me expelled' Girl X said, court hears

This afternoon, the court heard how Girl X allegedly asked for help from Boy Y in killing someone.

The defendant insisted that she only spoke about killing others as a part of "the fantasy". Mr Pratt, defence, read a message Girl X allegedly sent that read: "I need help killing someone called Boy R. It’s his fault if I get expelled. I really hate him and he’s an easy kill. He told teacher about me taking pills and stuff and got people to do statements saying I did them. Boy R is a dick to me and Boy O, he deserves to die."

But the court heard she didn't intend to kill him.

Court hears Girl X denies giving Brianna ibuprofen in murder attempt

Girl X has denied giving Brianna ibuprofen tablets in an attempt to kill her.

The accused claimed she had been googling the common drug because she had been having sucidial thoughts. But, the defence, Mr Pratt, told the court of texts between her and Boy Y.

The court heard he said: "You say afterwards 'the girl I mentioned, Brianna. I’m still tryna kill her. Easiest way is pill overdose, plus people know she’s depressed. Nobody would get sus, but for some reason she has a high tolerance. I gave her enough to kill her.' Did you give Brianna ibuprofen tablets?”

But Girl X denied this, the court heard, but she admitted to getting "some random tablets" with Brianna in Asda during one visit. She said this too was apart of her "fantasy".

Girl X told co-defendant she was 'good at playing victim', court heard

Girl X boasted to Boy Y, her co-defendant, that she was "good at playing the victim", the court heard today.

In May, she made a 999 call claiming she was being "stalked" by someone, someone she claimed to have previously killed, the defence explained.

In messages she told Boy Y that she "just started laughing" after hanging up, and that she was "good at playing victim", the court heard. But she says it was a "genuine" call and that she feared the male in question had a knife.

The defence, Mr Pratt, asked why she was pretending the call was a "fake call". The court heard she said: "I was basically implying that I didn't really have much emotion and I would make prank calls. It's to add more to the fantasy thing." And she told Boy Y it was "fun" to call police to "add to the fantasy".

Accused teen killer 'made fantasy about killing Brianna'

Girl X, the court heard, fantasied about killing Brianna.

In conversation with Boy Y over text, the court heard Girl X said "they went on holiday" when she was referring to Brianna - who was on holiday at the time.

The defence then said: "When you said they went on holiday, I didn’t have the chance to. What were you intending to say?”

Girl X then allegedly said: "I was making a fantasy about killing Brianna even though I had no intent."

Girl X said she was 'going to eat human flesh'

Girl X, the defence said, told Boy Y "i'm gonna eat human flesh" to which the court heard he replied "cook it first".

But when questioned on it, Girl X claimed she only said it to add to the violent fantasy and her interest in serial killers.

The defence said: "You go on to say lol no, a living human. What you’re saying is you had killed a living human. Had you done that?" To which Girl X said no. They continued: "You described how you’d done it. You said you fed them a f*** ton of tablets, cut their wrists with scissors. You said I’ll take you to the house I killed them at. The body is still there. Why were you saying that?"

The court heard Girl X said: "Because I wanted him to believe the fantasy. I wanted him to think it was true. To make it seem more realistic."

Girl X wanted Boy Y to think she was 'some kind of serial killer'

The court heard this afternoon that Girl X wanted Boy Y to think she was some kind of a serial killer.

The defence asked her: "Why would you tell Boy Y you had killed at least two people?"

To which the jury heard she replied: "I wanted him to think I was some kind of serial killer, just to add more to the whole fantasy thing."

After a discussion about Boy Y buying knives, the intermediary requested a break for Girl X.

Girl X recalls meeting Brianna and 'becoming friends'

The defence has turned to the portion of the messages that mention Brianna for the first time now.

Girl X told Boy Y she was "obsessed" with Brianna the court previously heard, and said she first met her in October last year.

The defence asked: "Did you two get to know each other?" to which Girl X said they "became friends". The court heard she added: "I had a good relationship with her. I would hang out with her. Neither of us liked to socialise much."

She said that their friendship grew over time and she admitted finding her attractive and told the court "we seemed to get on very well".

Girl X sent video from 'murder site' to Boy Y

This afternoon, Manchester Crown Court was shown a still of a video. The jury had previously been told that this was "advert for an underground site for people who like rape, snuff, torture and murder".

Girl X told the defence that she "watched the torture and murder side of it" and shared it with Boy Y to "see his reaction".

Two teens accused of Brianna murder 'shared dark fantasies'

Girl X shared her "dark fatasies" of murder and torture with her co-accused, Boy Y, the court was told this afternoon.

The defence examined conversations the teenager had had with Boy Y about killing a third young person, in court referred to as Boy M - who they also plotted to kill.

November 2022 was identified as a turning point, the jury heard, where the two teenagers began discussing the previously mentioned "dark materials" she access on the dark web.

The court heard that Girl X said they had "similar interests", so she: "started opening up to him about it. I would share the sort of dark fantasies that I would have." She added that these were: "Things to do with murdering people and torturing people."

Girl X admits 'interest in serial killers'

Girl X admitted in court this afternoon to having an interest in serial killers.

Being questioned by the defence, Mr Pratt, she said: "I just found it interesting. The different personalities of different serial killers and the different ways they would carry things out."

Girl X said she'd known her co-defendant Boy Y since she was eleven years old, the jury heard this afternoon.

She said they became "really good friends" and would hang out, but "neither of us like to go out very much". Instead she said they "would talk to each other online and play games with each other", the court was told.

Girl X self harmed, court is told

Girl X admitted in court today to self-harming and told jurors it was a "coping mechanism". The court was told about a video where she repeatedly stabbed a sofa with a bloodied knife.

Defending, Mr Pratt, said it was Girl X's blood on the knife. He said: "The knife is blood-stained, and it is your blood. How did your blood come to be on that knife?"

Girl X replied that she self-harmed and that it hadn't been the first time.

Girl X accessed dark web to watch torture and 'dark materials'

Girl X admitted to installing a browser to access the dark web on her phone which led her browse through violent material including torture.

The app allowed her to access the dark web where she admitted she looked at "dark materials".

She said that may have started a "couple of years ago" and she was interested in "a mix of different styles of violent stuff, including murder and torture."

When asked “did you enjoy watching it?” she said that she did but denied it made her want torture and kill people.

Girl X, one of the two teens alleged to have killed Brianna Ghey, has taken her place in the witness box to give evidence.

She will be giving her evidence from behind a screen and is accompanied by an intermediary, who has been assisting her throughout the trial.

She is wearing a black cardigan over a dark blue top and will be questionned by Mr Pratt. As she gave her name she was asked to raise her voice three times.

Justice Yip has entered the court and will first briefly discuss procedural matters with counsel before the defence begin their case.

Brianna's phone and card dumped down drain

Brianna's mobile phone, a pink iPhone, and her debit card, were dumped down a drain after she was stabbed 28 times and killed.

On February 11 the teen was attacked and killed in Culcheth Linear Park, near Warrington, Cheshire.

Four days later, a police dog found her phone down a drain, and inside the case was her debit card.

Proceedings to begin again today at 2pm

Proceedings for day ten will start today at 2pm - in roughly half an hour.

It is expected that Girl X, one of the two teens accused of killing Brianna, will take to the stand as the defence begins its case.

Brianna Ghey's heart had already stopped beating before medics arrived in the park as they raced to save her.

Yesterday, the agreed facts were read out to the court, as proceedings are set to continue today.

The jury heard that a 999 call was made at 3.13pm and a police officer was at the scene at 3.25pm. Then, five minutes later paramedics arrived.

The court was told: "Her heart was not beating. All efforts to save her were unsuccessful. She was pronounced dead at the scene at 4.02pm."

Girl X asked 'how come I am a suspect?' after murder arrest

Girl X asked police "how come I am a suspect?" after officers arrested her on suspicion of murder, the court was told yesterday.

At 7.30pm on February 12, police attended her home in Warrington, and arrested her. After being cautioned she asked: "‘how come I’m a suspect, was it because I was the last one to see her alive?’.”

Her phone was seized from beside her bed. A top, jogging bottoms, two socks, a pair of shoes and a pyjama top were also seized from her.

She was taken to Blacon Custody and was interviewed in the presence of her solicitor and her uncle, who was acting as an appropriate adult.

Girl X 'made lists of serial killers' in notebook police found in her room

Girl X allegedly made lists of serial killers in a notebook that police found when searching her room.

The court yesterday heard a number of chilling allegations about the two teenagers alleged to have killed schoolgirl Brianna Ghey. It included messages they shared, and also a number of notes found in Girl X's room.

The court heard that a "page headed serial killer facts" was found and another was a list of "types of serial killers". The court was told: "There’s a list there under that heading. That reads organised, disorganised, organised and disorganised, crime spree, mass murderer, psychopathic sexual sadist, custodial, physiotic organised crime and copycat.”

Court hears of chilling 'murder plan' note

Yesterday, the court were told of a note said to have been found in Girl X's home in Warrington by police.

In the note, she allegedly outlines the plan to lure Brianna into the park, kill her and hide her body. The prosecution said it was "clearly ... a plan to kill Brianna Ghey".

The note was allegedly headed "Saturday 11th February 2023. Victim: Brianna Ghey.", and it read:"Meet Boy Y at wooden posts 1pm. Walk down to library…bus stop. Wait until Brianna gets off bus then the 3 of us walk to Linear Park.

"Go to the pipe/tunnel area. I say code word to Boy Y. He stabs her in the back as I stab her in the stomach. Boy Y drags the body into the area. We both cover up the area with logs etc."

Girl X expected to go on the stand today

Girl X, one of the two teenagers accused of murdering Brianna Ghey, is expected to go on the stand today.

The teeanger was 15 when she and Boy Y allegedly stabbed Brianna 28 times.

She denies the murder. Yesterday, the court heard of a note she was said to have written in which she outline their plan to kill Brianna.
