Married At First Sight's Shona 'getting married' to co-star weeks after show end
Married At First Sight stars Shona Manderson and Matt Pilmoor have revealed their plans to get married for real after falling for each other on the reality show.
The pair featured on the recent eighth season of the UK version of the hit extreme dating show which airs via E4 - but were coupled up with other people. Shona 31, was paired with 27-year-old yoga enthusiast Brad Skelly and their explosive relationship ultimately led to them being removed from the show over concerns their romance had become toxic and abusive.
Meanwhile, 29-year-old Matt was paired with 26-year-old Adrienne Naylor - who brutally dumped him and took swipes at his personality as she claimed he was not interesting enough to keep her entertained. While Shona and Matt’s respective Married At First Sight romances ended in disaster, it seems the duo have found love with each other instead - and arguably this is still thanks to the show.
Now Shona and Matt have hinted that they plan to tie-the-knot for real - claiming it is the ‘journey’ they are destined to take together. The smitten duo also said despite their rough experiences in the E4 dating experiment they are grateful to the show for bringing them together - even through they were not matched by the professional relationship experts who oversee the entire series.

Shona was originally married to Brad Skelly on the E4 show (E4)Speaking to OK! Magazine, Shona said: “We have spoken about this and we believe that it was the journey we were meant to go on. We needed to learn and grow, and I think how we have found each other is so romantic.

If we had been matched on MAFS, then maybe it would have been different. We wouldn’t have met if it wasn’t for MAFS – it was meant to be! When Matt walked into the reunion I was like ‘Who is that?’ because I left [the show] and then he came in, so we had never met."
And Matt agreed, adding: "The whole thing has happened for a reason." And he added: “We definitely want to get married. Getting married abroad would be lovely but, logistically, we would do it in the UK for family coming and stuff like that.”
Matt was paired with Adrienne Naylor - but she brutally dumped him on the show (E4)The recent season of MAFS UK brought a number of couples together - but hardly any of them have remained together following the conclusion of the recent season.
Show favourites Peggy Rose and Georges Berthonneau, 30, are one of the few couples still together. Peggy, 32, told fans online: "CONFIRMED: We’re still together! [heart, Champagne and celebratory emojis]. We held back on sharing and smothering socials to give ourselves some much needed quality time post the show ending. Although we are in a relationship, we still have our own identity and individuality - that’s what makes us so strong."
She added: As cliche as this sounds, we want to thank you all for your patience - it hasn’t been easy, but sharing our journey with you means the world as your ongoing love and support are everything to us. Plus, we have more exciting news: we’ve created joint accounts to share our life post MAFS. Follow along for more updates. Here’s to the next chapter!"
Meanwhile, the other remaining couples are 26-year-old Paul Lisa and 25-year-old Tasha Jay who are going strong. And while 26-year-old Jordan Gayle and 25-year-old Erica Roberts saw their marriage rocked by trust issues while on the show, they have continued as a couple following the season conclusion.
