Tiger Woods showed off his impressive physique as he donned a Nike vest and a ‘Michael Jordan’ knee brace as he completed a return to golf.

Woods marked his return to the tee for the first time since April’s Masters after suffering an ankle injury by competing at the Hero World Challenge at the Albany Golf Club in the Bahamas. The 47-year-old, widely regarded as one of the greatest golfers of all time, has not been since in competition for months but as he eyes a steady return to the game he will have been pleased with four completed rounds.

As he arrived on Sunday for the morning session, Woods wore a skintight sports vest to show off his muscular frame on the way to the pavilion. He completed the ice-cold look with sunglasses, grey shorts and a baseball cap as well as the black-and-red brace on his right leg.

His fans were thrilled to see Woods in seemingly peak condition, but they also pointed to the brace as an homage to Chicago Bulls icon Jordan. The six-time NBA champion was known for rocking a similar brace throughout his career.

“The Jordan brace!” wrote one user on X. “Goat recognises Goat.”

“Thought this was an NFL player walking into the stadium then I realised it was Tiger,” declared another fan. His physique had fans impressed, with one user adding: “Yoked. Good to have Tiger back, golf is better with Tiger.”

On his return to competition, Woods had plenty of highs and lows, and ended 18th in the 20-man field, failing to break 70 at the tournament he hosts annually. However, the 15-time major champion finished all four rounds - and classifies the achievement as progress.

“I haven’t done it in a while,” Woods said after signing for a 72 on Sunday. “I haven’t done it with my ankle the way it is now and I was excited each and every day to kind of get through it and kind of start piecing rounds together again.

“I haven’t done this in a long time, so it was fun to feel that again.”

Woods has played all four rounds at a major championship just once since 2020 while dealing with multiple injuries, including a car crash that nearly cost him his leg. He struggled at Augusta in April, withdrawing as ailments proved to be too much.

However, the Hero World Challenge proved to be the perfect event for Woods to return to action. The intimate 20-man field doesn’t have a cut and is played on a relatively flat course, which allows Woods to enjoy a comfortable experience - even if the tournament is not an official PGA Tour event.
