Martin Lewis' MSE team shares SIM deal to help cut your phone bill
Mobile SIM contracts can be a great way to lock in cheaper data prices while paying off your new smartphone at the same time. What's better than finding the lowest monthly cost? Getting a phone plan that doesn't come with mid-contract price hikes or hidden exit fees.
In the lead-up towards Christmas, many people may have put the latest iPhone 15, Samsung Galaxy S23, or Google Pixel 8 Pro on their wishlist, so it's no surprise to see network providers drop a host of data deals.
Martin Lewis' team at Money Saving Expert regularly urge billpayers to switch providers and save on mobile costs, mainly aimed at those who are coming to the end of their phone contract. The team regularly pushes money-saving tips in their 'switching need to knows' where users are guided on the best way to unlock their handset, change providers and even haggle.
Mirror Tech's recommended SIM deals:
- TalkMobile's 120GB SIM for £11.95 a month
And it's in their latest round-up of SIM deals, picked out by their experts, where we've spotted a too-good-to-miss mobile offer. That's iD Mobile's 100GB SIM deal. When paired with its adjacent shopping voucher it drops the monthly price even further, as users will get a Currys gift card to spend too.
Martin Lewis issues 8-week warning to phone users ahead of huge price hikes
While the team also points out TalkMobile in its list of top three SIM-only offers, we've spotted more of its existing Black Friday offers we feel are too good to miss. And taken a leaf out of their book to shop around for cheaper SIM-only deals, that when added up could save you hundreds of pounds without realising - like this TalkMobile deal which works out £180 cheaper than Vodafone.
The TalkMobile deal includes 120GB of data for £11.95 a month, on a £12 month contract with unlimited minutes and texts. We did a quick price comparison to Vodafone's closest 100GB of data SIM deal, which sets users back £27 a month - £15 more each month.
The Vodafone deal is on a 24-month contract but adding up just one year price difference between Vodafone's 100GB data deal and TalkMobile's 120GB deal comes to a huge £180.60 difference.
EE's closest SIM-only dea l (to our 120GB top pick from TalkMobile) is similar in price at £12.50 a month - as the provider drops the price from its original £25 price. This works out to be just £6.60 more expensive than TalkMobile's deal when split across a full 12-month plan.
