An ex-Apple employee has revealed seven game-changing iPhone hacks that nobody is using - with users praising the "life-saving" tips.

Former Apple worker, Tyler Morgan, has uploaded a viral TikTok video that details seven surprising hacks including shaking the phone to undo typing and adding commentary to screen recordings.

The ex-worker, who has gained a massive social media following, regularly shares insights into his time at Apple and things he has learned from the company.

He has previously been praised for admitting official Apple accessories are not worth the price and has offered tips on where to source much cheaper alternatives. However, in this video, he confesses "there are more tips I thought everyone knew" as he lists the seven most under-the-radar hacks.

Tap to snap, hold to record

iPhone users normally have to scroll to the video feature on the camera but in this tip, he says it is possible to simply hold down the button that would normally be used to take a picture.

On Snapchat or TikTok users can slide their fingers up or down the phone's screen to zoom in on the picture while holding the record button. It can save vital seconds such as catching a child's first steps or switching to record just in time. Despite it saving just seconds, it could be the difference between capturing precious moments.

One-handed keyboard

Morgan shows us how handy this tip is if you're multitasking and only have one free hand to text a response to a message. He says you can do this by holding down the globe button on the bottom left of the keyboard, which will show an emoji or language options. However, it's three options at the bottom that will allow the user to switch the keyboard to the left, right, or move it back to the centre. "It then it becomes a little smaller and a little easier to type on," Morgan said.

Commentate over videos

Commentating on videos is a real hack and can be achieved by swiping down on the top of your iPhone screen, which will show the screen recording button. You just hold down the button and a screen will pop up with a microphone at the bottom. Simply select the microphone and you can record your voice while recording your screen. Perfect for any gig, football match, or event.

Using the search bar as a calculator

Most users will have to unlock their phone to access the calculator but in this tip, you can locate the search bar on your phone by swiping down after unlocking the screen. The search bar will appear like the one on Google, and users can use the feature to calculate sums with ease.

Haptic touch for faster app adjustments

By accessing the control screen on your iPhone and selecting the haptic touch option, users can change app features without going into settings. Morgan explains this method works by holding down each of the buttons in turn and you will have the ability to adjust the brightness of your flashlight, take a selfie, or record a video. "Pretty much eliminates your need to go into the settings menu at all,’" Morgan says.

Highlight multiple messages at once

This is a very handy tool and can be used by using by selecting several messages by swiping up the column with two fingers. It can only work on Apple apps, for example, messages or emails. Deleting each message at once can be lengthy, but this gives the option to select all relevant messages to delete at once.

Undo typing

Accidentally deleting a message can be a real pain but with this hack, you can simply just shake your phone and it'll give the undo option. "If you ever deleted something by accident, you can always just shake your phone and it’ll give you the option to undo it," Morgan said.
