Kourtney Kardashian says pregnancy announcement 'wasn't about' family after snub
Kourtney Kardashian has confirmed that she "didn't think" she needed to invite her family to her pregnancy reveal because it "wasn't about them."
Fans saw the reality star's pregnancy mentioned for the first time in last week's episode of The Kardashians on Hulu as she sat and talked to her son Reign about him becoming a big brother. Later in the episode Kourtney then announced to the camera: “So guys, I’m having a baby. In case you can’t see my belly baby bump.”
She then elaborated further in a confessional as she said: “I am five months pregnant. I have not told most people, I’ve told my closest friends, my family, my kids. And I had told my mom pretty early on.” The show also aired a scene that was filmed back in April where Kourtney sat around a table with her sisters Kim Kardashian, Khloé Kardashian, Kendall Jenner, and Kylie Jenner before handing them envelopes which contained the her baby scan to announce her pregnancy.

One tense scene shows Kris and Khloé sat together as a producer asked if they’d enjoyed the reveal. Khloe said: “She found out on the news, my mom, she wasn’t happy - rightfully so.”
Kris then explained: “I opened my eyes and right in front of me, because we’d left the TV on the night before and woke up very early in the morning, to see Kourtney holding a sign. I thought I was being punk’d. I’m like, did somebody put this up? Then I realized it was the ABC news. I knew she was pregnant, but I just didn’t know she was going to announce it.”

Kourtney did admit her mum already knew she was pregnant (Kourtney Kardashian/Instagram)Khloé then continued: “When I said on Saturday: ‘Wow, mom’s feelings are really hurt that you did this, blah blah blah…’ and she was like: ‘I forgot.’” Kris then sarcastically added: “She forgot she had a family. That’s what pregnancy brain does. It’s wild how that happens.”
However Kourtney stuck by her decision explaining in a further confessional: “I truly just didn’t think to invite them to the LA concert, and I didn’t think they would care to come. I did tell Khloé about it and she asked me to change it to San Diego. It’s not about you! It just truly was our way to tell the world, and it was about me and Travis - not about anything else.”
