Omid Scobie 'hungry to speak' after 'royal racists outed' in bombshell new book

Omid Scobie looked like a "pure celebrity wannabe" as he spoke about his explosive new book, Endgame.

The Royal author released Endgame on Tuesday and made headlines around the world as he revealed some shocking claims about the Royal Family. In the book, it's claimed two members of The Firm expressed "concerns" over the skin colour of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's son.

It also said the Princess of Wales Kate Middleton "shudders" when her sister-in-law Meghan is mentioned. Omid has made several TV appearances to promote his book and body language expert Judi James said he seems "hungry to speak".

Speaking exclusively to The Mirror about his interview with Good Morning America, Judi explained: "Scobie's body language during this interview really is a game of two halves. His upper half is pure celebrity wannabe: keen, hungry to speak and wearing a cheek-rounded smile of delight at being the centre of attention. His lower half tells a very different story though, with signs and rituals that hint at anxiety, tension and evasion."

She pointed out how the author sat "awkwardly erect at the start of the chat" before springing to life in "personable celebrity mode" as he was introduced. Judi added: "His 'Good to see you' and 'Nice to be here in the studio', and the way he places an elbow on his chair and leans forward keenly with a self-satisfied-looking smile is more Tom Cruise A-lister than humble royal author."

During the chat, Omid was asked about the death of Queen Elizabeth III. In Endgame, it's claimed Harry was "kept in the dark" about his grandmother Queen Elizabeth's health decline in the hours before her death.

Judi noted: "When the Queen's passing is mentioned Scobie moves into a passive pose with his hands clasped dutifully in the fig leaf position. From here on he seems to be trying to adopt the role of concern for the monarchy and for brothers Harry and William.

"His words and his performed facial expressions suggest he is trying to save it, not harm it. And this is where he seems to become incongruent with his non-verbal signals. Scobie has two distinct rounded cheeks on each side of his face. One is at normal cheek level and the other appears to the side of his mouth.

"Cheek-rounding is a sign of genuine pleasure, as is a supressed smile with downturned corners, and Scobie shows both during this brief interview, so when he adopts an air of concern for lines like 'The monarchy as we know it …is at stake' his micro gestures seem at odds with his projected sentiments."

Omid also talked about the rift between Harry and his brother Prince William. Judi said he adopts a pose of "regret and sadness" at this part of the interview, however, she suggested it is "disingenuous".

The expert explained: "His mouth shrug seems aimed at suggesting regret as he describes it as a 'little upsetting' but his eyes perform a cut-off as he looks down and to his left. This trait of looking down in a cut-off ritual makes him appear evasive on some of his points, while his hands and feet contradict the more confident and personable behaviour of his face."

Speaking about Omid's response to the racism allegations, Judi told us: "He scratches his palm in a gesture of discomfort and when he is asked about the Oprah claim his toes raise up in a gesture of tension and although his arms are splayed out to suggest openness his right-hand fiddles with his rings to suggest anxiety. When he speaks about letters between Meghan and Charles he becomes more animated, throwing his cupped hands from one side to the other in an illustrative ritual that seems to suggest there might even have been several letters. But then he fiddles with his finger again to suggest tension and as the talk ends his feet are doing a small dance on the floor in a similarly tense vibe."
