TOWIE star Shelby Tribble reveals breast cancer scare as she shares advice to fans to 'always check'

Former TOWIE star Shelby Tribble has opened up about a health scare after she found a lump on her breast, which was initially thought to be breast cancer.

The star, who first starred on the Essex reality show in 2018, explained she made the discovery and sought help from her GP before being told she would need to have a biopsy for further testing. The 30-year-old mum of one opened up about her health scare on Instagram as she shared a snap of leaflets and information, whilst reassuring fans that her doctor thought it wasn't cancer but was completing more tests to be on the safe side.

Whilst Shelby will need to wait for the all-clear, she's been told the lump is possibly a Fibroadenoma, which is a solid breast lump and is not cancerous.

Speaking on Instagram on Tuesday (28 November), Shelby wrote: "I noticed a lump in my boob but didn't think anything of it (which is silly) I thought it had got bigger so went to my GP who referred me to be checked ASAP. They think the lump is a Fibroadenoma but I had a biopsy taken today just to be safe." She added a warning to her followers: "Always check your boobies, ladies, for any bumps, lumps, or changes and make sure you see the GP straight away."

Shelby, who left TOWIE to focus on family life alongside then-partner Sam Muckwell, has previously spoken about her decision to have a boob job after being bullied over the size of her chest. In a previous interview, she told The Sun: "I'd look in the mirror and think I wasn't good enough. Being flat-chested used to really bother me — as a teenager I used to put fillers in my bra."

Shelby also recently sparked rumours that she and partner Sam Mucklow had split after four years together. The pair share a son Abel. The former TV star set gossip in motion after she recently shared a TikTok video featuring audio that said: "This is a song I wrote about men... It is called new...". The former TOWIE star shared the clip with the caption: "Am I speaking for the majority of us at this point?"

Whilst neither Sam nor Shelby confirmed the split, a source told The Sun: "They're still co-parenting their child together and want to keep things normal for Abel but the romantic relationship is over - Shelby's being supported by family and friends."
