Ellie Leach and Vito Coppola have sparked serious romance rumours since making their Strictly Come Dancing debut in September, and by the looks of it, the speculation is only heating up.

The Coronation Street star made it through to Musicals Week on Sunday after scoring an impressive 38 for her Argentine Tango with her Italian mentor, bringing the pair one step closer to that coveted Glitterball Trophy. Vito took to Instagram after the show to post a gushing tribute to Ellie, 22, revealing he's "proud" of "the woman she is becoming" and all of her hard work as they get ready for the Quarter Finals.

"Weeks ago I met a girl, and now look at you," the 31-year-old captioned a video of him and the ITV soap icon dancing the Latin routine to Destiny Child's Bills, Bills, Bills. "And I am sure that you still have much more to show and much more to say Lulú. Everyone is proud of you but mostly you have to be proud of yourself, because you and only you know all the sacrifices and the commitment needed to perform in that way, for someone who has Never danced before."

After it was announced that they'd be competing in the Quarter Finals, Ellie and Vito took to their social media respective platforms to express their gratitude to their adoring fans. "We are over the moon," the choreographer said, before promising that they'd continue to work hard to give their best performance on next week's show.

Ellie and Vito have been inundated by sweet messages following their latest triumph, with many viewers lauding the couple's talent in the comment section. "I can’t begin to explain the joy that watching you both brings me," one person wrote. "You are both blessed with wonderful talent, strength and inner love."

"You both doing great on Strictly you have my full support you'll get to the final," another person commented, while another said, "Well, I don't know about you two needing to get a room with all that intenseness, but I needed a room! Wow. You two are incredible."

Ellie, who is best known for playing Faye Windass in Coronation Street from 2011 to 2023, is believed to be single after splitting from her boyfriend last year. Her undeniable chemistry with Vito in rehearsals and on the live stage has gained significant attention from Strictly fans, with many viewers wondering if the pair could be more than just friends behind-the-scenes.

Vito swerved a question about their relationship on Lorraine, however, after the Scottish presenter commented on both parties' single status. Appearing on the ITV chat show via a video link last week, the pair were more than happy to chat all about their dance routines and friendship. However, when Lorraine broached the rumours that they were an item, Vito was quick to change the subject.

"Both of you are single, everybody wants a romance, you're getting on incredibly well - clearly there's a bond there..." the 63-year-old said, only for Vito to interject, "Not just Ellie, all of Ellie's family have become like another family for me. I've been so lucky because they are so wonderful."
