Pensioner killed and kids in hospital as car smashes into fans outside stadium
A pensioner has died and three people have been rushed to hospital after a car collided with fans outside a football stadium.
The 76-year-old man was behind the wheel of a Vauxhall Crossland when it is understood he fell unwell, and the motor collided into three pedestrians, including the two 12-year-old boys.
Club officials from Queen of the South rushed to help the injured parties before they were dashed to hospital last night. It happened outside their stadium, Palmerston Park, in Dumfries, Scotland, just after the side played Dundee United.

A 46-year-old man and two boys, both 12, were rushed to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary. Medics say they were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "We were made aware of a collision between a car, three pedestrians and two parked cars in a car park at Lochfield Road in Dumfries shortly after 5.50pm on Saturday, 25 November.
“The 76-year-old male driver of the Vauxhall Crossland car involved was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin are aware. The three pedestrians – a man aged 46 and two boys both aged 12, were taken to Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary for treatment to non-life threatening injuries. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course. Officers wish to thank all members of the public for their assistance at the incident."

Stewards from Queen of the South formed a line in front of the wreckage to keep people away, witnesses said. One witness said the Vauxhall Crossland "ran out of control" after the alleged medical episode and struck fans and parked cars.
The witness told The Scottish Sun: "It's understood a car may have run out of control and hit some people before hitting another vehicle. It's believed club officials raced to the scene with paramedics and security staff.
"Some paramedics already at Palmerston for the game got there quickly before police and other ambulance staff arrived."
Queen of the South had just overcome Dundee United 4-3 on penalties in the Scottish Cup tie, after the game ended 2-2 after 90 minutes. Young forward Kai Fotheringham scored the second of his brace for Dundee to send the game to the shootout.
