Baking expert's air fryer doughnuts take just five minutes to cook
A savvy baking expert has sahred a brilliant air fryer trick to make delicious dougnnuts - and they take minutes to rustle up.
In the last few years, air fryers have become more and more popular, with many people opting to use these countertop appliances over a traditional convection oven. They can also be more efficient and cheaper to cook with, especially if you are only making food for a couple of people.
If you're a fan of baked goods like doughnuts, then here is a hack for you. One baking expert has explained their go-to recipe to whip up doughnuts and cook them in an air fryer, in a method that takes only five minutes - usually cooking doughnuts at home would require you to deep fry them, so this is a great alternative for anyone who is looking to use a bit less oil in their cooking and it requires only four ingredients.
The expert, Candice Bannister from Candy's Cupcakes, shared her four-ingredient recipe with The Express, and she advises using pre-made dough to save you some time. The pre-made dough you buy in the shops should specify that it is suitable for doughnuts, however, so make sure to double-check. The only other ingredients you need are 50g icing sugar, two melted tablespoons of butter, and two tablespoons of biscoff spread.
Firstly you need to preheat your air fryer to 190 degrees celcius. While this is heating up you can easily prepare your dough - split it into small chunks for each portion, and make sure they are evenly sized so that it all cooks at the same speed.

Once they are split up, flatten them and cut a small hole in the middle of each piece - if you don't have a dedicated utensil for this, simply use a small lid to create the holes. Then pop them in your air fryer, while making sure there is a decent amount of space between each doughnut and they are in a single layer.
They will only take four to five minutes to cook, but halfway through you should flip them over to ensure that each side turns a lovely golden brown colour. While they are cooking melt your biscoff spread in the microwave - it should be soft by the time it’s finished.
Remove your donuts from the air fryer and dip them in the spread before finally using your icing sugar to sprinkle over the top and simply tuck in to this quick and easy to cook treat.
