The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are said to be keen to build bridges with King Charles III and the British Royal Family, with them even predicted not to turn down an invitation to Sandringham for Christmas if they were to be sent one.

An insider recently revealed: "I can’t imagine the Sussexes would decline an invitation to spend time with His Majesty. As of yet, there have not been any invitations for the holidays."

And now it has been revealed that King Charles is "unlikely" to invite the Sussexes to England for the festive period. However, he could invite Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to New Years celebrations in Scotland, according to a public relations expert.

Speaking to The Mirror, Lynn Carratt said that if the Sussexes do end up spending Christmas in Sandringham, "it would be a PR dream" and would make an "incredible story".

"A fractured family reunited on Christmas Day, photographed for the world to see, would feel heartwarming, especially during the festive season," she noted, before adding how the last time the couple spent Christmas with the Royal Family was in 2018 when Harry, Meghan, and the Prince and Princess of Wales were coined the fab four.

Lynn noted that in 2018 "it seemed the future of the British Monarchy was in safe hands; little did we know what was around the corner". She went on to add that while relations may have "thawed" recently between King Charles and Harry after he spoke to his father on his 75th birthday, "he is reportedly still estranged from his brother William".

She went on: "But according to friends of Meghan and Harry, they are keen to return to the family fold to see more of Charles allow their children Archie and Lilibet to spend the festive season with their grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins, which they have never done before."

Lynn the spoke of how this year at Sandringham it will be "all change" amid the first big change of arrangements since the death of Queen Elizabeth II, who died in September 2022.

"Queen Consort Camilla’s family will be attending the Christmas lunch for the first time; throw Harry and Meghan into the mix and what a blended family Christmas it would become," she said.

Concluding her expert analysis from a public relations point of view, Lynn said: "So, while in 2023, it would be great to see this blended family come together and put the rifts of the past behind them, it is unlikely to happen this year. It is more likely that King Charles will invite Harry and his family to Scotland for New Year Celebrations."
