Meghan Markle has missed out on 'significant financial gain', expert says
Meghan Markle is thought to have missed out on a lucrative deal with Dior, with one expert saying she could have gained "significant financial benefits" with the contract.
The former Suits star, 42, was tipped to become the Duchess of Dior earlier this year and follow in the footsteps of Rihanna, Johnny Depp and Jennifer Lawrence. However, The Crown actress Meg Bellamy is now believed to be the favourite to take on the role.
PR expert Mayah Riaz has said Meghan could have gained a number of opportunities if she had signed with the French fashion house. Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, she said: “There were reports that Meghan Markle was in consideration to become the face of Dior.

The PR expert continued: "Being the face of Dior would have given Meghan several opportunities.

"Firstly, being the face of such a prestigious and iconic fashion brand would have enhanced her global image and solidified her status as a style icon. It would have provided her with a platform to promote her fashion choices and potentially collaborate on future projects with Dior.
"Also, becoming the face of Dior would have likely come with significant financial benefits. Brand ambassadorship deals of this magnitude often involve substantial contracts and endorsement fees. This could have further expanded Meghan's wealth and financial independence."

She told us: "It goes without saying that being associated with a brand like Dior would have opened doors to other high-profile fashion and beauty collaborations. It could have led to partnerships with luxury brands, fashion magazines, and even opportunities within the entertainment industry."
However, she also said the Duchess of Sussex is very successful in her own right and has plenty of other work to focus on. "Having said this, let’s not forget that Meghan is already a highly influential and successful individual, and she has achieved a great deal in her own right.
"She has a strong personal brand, which she has used to advocate for causes she is passionate about. Meghan has also launched her own initiatives such as the clothing line Smart Works. Even without being the face of Dior, she still has a substantial platform to make a significant impact," Mayah told us.
