A woman who found out her husband was having an affair publicly begged Ryanair to change her flight so he could take his mistress in her place instead.

When she found out her husband had been unfaithful, the woman then asked the budget airline if they could swap the flights over - as she'd booked for the pair to jet away on holiday together before she'd found out about the affair.

Now knowing the truth, she claimed she would rather her now ex-husband take his mistress in her place as she's "welcome to him" or get a full refund. She pleaded online, as she shared on X (formerly known as Twitter) for the changes to be made. She wrote: "Hi I booked flights for myself and my husband to go away I've just found out he's having an affair!"

In a bid to make the change, she further detailed: "Can you refund the flights or at least change my name to his bit on the side as she's welcome to him!" Since making the post, it garnered over four million views according to The Mail.

The Irish airline, which is famous for cheap flights, is also known online for their quick-witted, sarcastic and sometimes controversial social media responses to people who complain to them online. Even their description on X states: "We sell seats, not windows."

In true style, Ryanair savagely replied: "Emotional baggage costs extra," But X users were quick to defend her, and many claimed they should refund her for her ordeal. As one user simply replied: "REFUND HER" with two clapping emojis. Whereas some found it hilarious and hailed that it was Ryanair's "tweet of the year".

Others quickly used it as the perfect opportunity to complain to their airline about all of the extra charges that occur, as another user penned: "EVERYTHING costs extra on your airline."

Since the tweet went viral, the woman has now deleted the post and it's unsure whether she was able to get the names changed or if she got a refund altogether.

Another Ryanair passenger, ended up forking out more for check-in than for the cost of her flights to Italy. Unzela Khan ended up having to pay £220 to check-in at Luton Airport, based on each of her party being charged £55 each. Like many others who've chosen to fly with the budget airline, she was pinged by its notoriously expensive check-in fees.

"If I told you I bought a T-shirt but I had to pay to actually wear it - what would you say? It's ridiculous? Well, that's exactly how I felt when Ryanair demanded we pay £55 - per person might I add - to board a flight we had already paid for," Unzela wrote in My London.
